Cartoon Heroes Paper Cut-Outs
Shake, Rattle & Roll
A segment featuring in the C.B. Bears animated variety show, Shake, Rattle and Roll was conceived of and produced by Hanna-Barbera. It concerns the misadventures of a trio of zany ghosts who inhabit an abandoned hotel.
The three ghosts maintain this dilapidated hotel as a boarding home for ghosts, ghoulies and specters who have nowhere else to go. The professional ghost hunter known as Sidney Merciless, however, is constantly trying to expel the ghosts and have the hotel condemned and torn down. Fortunately, Shake, Rattle and Roll are regularly able to thwart the ghosthunter's mean-spirited plans; often with the help of Poltercat (a living cat who also resides in the hotel and spends his free time chasing a ghostly mouse).
Featuring the voices of Alan Oppenheimer, Joe E. Ross, Lennie Weinrib and Paul Winchell, Shake, Rattle and Roll debuted in the first episode of C.B. Bears airing in September of 1977. It ran for thirteen spooky installments.
