i like weave chat, but i just got cboard, and it’s a lot quicker to write what wanting to say and make pretty buttons for them. if anyone uses weave chat, i really suggest trying cboard it is free too. anyway, i hope you’re having good day.

Anyways, in the time we've been gone we redesigned our AAC. Wanna see our new board? Well, I'm gonna show you anyways.

Now that we use Cboard as our primary AAC app, there's less pressure to make Coughdrop robust - so we're enjoying making new/different kinds of boards

i recently got a new aac app (cboard), and i’ve never set one up myself. (infact i have never used an app that wasn’t very limited, and im used to low tech) so i was wondering if you have any general tips? i’m worried ill miss something >.<

i dont know how cboard works, but most aac setups have a homeboard with links to boards with other words

currently my homeboard setup has 47 buttons on a 6x8 grid with the most common words i will say and folders linking to

prepositions

adjectives

social words (hi, bye, swears, phrases)

question words (who what when ...)

people and less frequent pronouns.

actions

places

time words

common nouns that i use

categories

small words (a, an, this, these, those etc)

Day 7: (High Tech) What app do you use? Why?

I personally use the apps Cboard and Weave Chat. Cboard has better symbols built into the app in my opinion, and is easier to edit in some ways. Weave Chat has an actual grammar system built into it, and can be easily accessed through both my iPhone and my iPad. Weave Chat also has a really helpful suggestion bar near the output bar.

ATTENTION AAC USERS OF TUMBLR!!

is anyone able to help out with set up ideas/ideas for buttons/folders?

im trying to set up one for us rn, as at times we have verbal shutdowns (no known verbality disorders), and i, as a host, have decided that we need to better accommodate ourself in life.

photos, videos and/or descriptions of how your aacs are set up will be really good!! ofc never share more personal things, but still any ideas will be good!!

if it matters, we have diagnosed autism, adhd, depression and severe anxiety. we also use the Cboard AAC app on our phone and ipad, but also use the webapp version to make the tiles (as it uses accounts, or you can be a guest on it, and with accounts it means that things transfer across devices) :3
