i have been adding childhood videos i used to listen on repeat all the time and i love it!!! doesn't loop but i like clicking it again myself :3 does my age show by my comfort stim vids LOL
besides stim videos things like music/guided meditation/etc would work great i want to add some near buttons i'll press when anxious to calm down. links to websites work as well! i have a button to quickly google search too
AAAAAAAAA I GET NEW TABLET FOR AAC & ART SO SOON!!!!!!
im so excited i finally get new ipad after being stuck with my mom's old one with a super shattered screen I CAN SEE MY BUTTONS EASY AND DRAW WITH NEW PENCIL AGAIN!!!!! i can practice more art too and probably get more commissions done!! so thankful for my mom
i need to find a good case for it i found a pink one that's cute but a little expensive, im also thinking of other ipad accessories i would find useful, mainly a magnetic paperlike screen protector & maybe keyboard for blogging but i have my actual laptop for that but i also just like brainstorming accessories
if anyone has recommendations please suggest! i dont want keyguards as i use different button sizes for different pages, other useful things i would like to hear tho!
nervous a little to start using aac more but my current LD caregiver is very supportive of it and i text him with my buttons sometimes and made boards for when im regressing in different headspaces so that makes me more comfy, and my mom understands why i use it and how it's helpful especially when i sick and she wants me to help make boards for other kids she may work with at her job and that sounds fun i would with more energy
I'm starting to get fed up with how difficult it is to find a good aac app, so here's me complaining about it.
Aac shouldn't cost money. You shouldn't have to pay to communicate. And most decent aac apps cost way way more than they should. I understand maybe some premium features that cost like 10 dollars, max. But all basic features should be free. I'm not paying a company money so i can talk to people.
They should be available on all devices. I can't try TD Snap mainly because I don't have apple app store. Even if it is free, your app can't help people communicate if they can't even download it. They should also be designed to work well on both tablets and phones.
Aac apps should be fully and easily customizable. Layouts, words, folders, symbols, colors, everything. You should be able to make your aac work for you, and you should be able to do so easily.
I'm so fucking sick of fighting tooth and nail to find an app that works for me so I can literally just communicate. I shouldn't have to try this hard.
made a feelings wheel page on my AAC to be able to identify my feelings when I'm having trouble! Inspired by my awesome boyfriend's idea. I'll leave the link on Pageset Central here (link)
