It's interesting how Zack tells Cloud that once they arrive back in Midgar that they will be mercenaries. If you note at the beginning of FF7 he is a mercenary which is the very thing Zack said they would become. Barret often calls Cloud Merc which is short for that.

Then as Zack is about to die he tells Cloud to take his sword and that his dreams are his now. He says he is his living legacy. Then Cloud takes his sword and from the Mako poisoning and trying to cope with his death, he becomes him.

He literally became his living legacy and carried out his dreams by almost becoming like Zack. He believed he had the story that Zack did.

listen he could get straight a’s if he wanted to...but sometimes he just cant be bothered to do a subject

if he is really interested in something, he will go all in with the subject and try his hardest to get a good grade

but if he isnt really interested he’ll just do some sloppy work and turn it in

like he’ll still try, but not nearly as good as he could

just kinda wants to have fun in school, not pour his heart and soul into something he doesnt like just to get a literal letter

also thinks the school system is shit

so yeah, a mix of b’s, c’s, a few a’s that stuff

nobody is really ‘gifted’ in this au, cause, for me, the deal with ‘gifted kids’ is that they are people who just tend to understand things faster

some people are more methodical or just a bit slower on the uptake

that doesnt really make them dumb

some just dont try

there are some things he doesnt necessarily like, but he still tries because he feels like he has to

mostly b’s

like he does try because he’d feel really bad if he didnt

but he does get tired out by school really quickly

and cant be bothered

his parents are p happy with his grades, they arent like tiger parents or anything

also he has a problem with tests cause he usually gets p stressed out

he gets a few a’s sometimes, but usually b’s, maybe the occasional c

Roman

mix of a’s and b’s, a few c’s can pop up

tries his best

really likes when art project comes up and whenever it does he’s always like “BET”

yeah sometimes he doesnt have the best understanding of a subject and gets a kinda poor grade

but he usually grasps it at least semi well

Remus

d’s, c’s, an f is pretty rare for him but happens sometimes

he doesnt have the best understanding of subjects

and his grades show it

he tries, he really does

but a lot of this stuff just seems for foreign to him no matter what he does

his friends help him, which he appreciates

he also has a problem with remembering things

his friends make up jokes and images for stuff, especially materials on tests, so that he can remember, which is honestly really helpful

so yeah, he’s trying to improve his grades

Dee

a hodge-podge of everything tbh

very much thinks the school system is shit

sorta kinda not really tries

guy is hard to pin down with this stuff

only really tries with stuff he likes, similar to logan

other times he scrawls and turns it in, not looking back

so yeah, kinda similar to logan, but to a higher extreme yk

a lot of the times he is tired and cannot be bothered in the slightest

also, yeah, the whole chaos crew thinks the school system is wack and needs to be fixed

one of logan, virgil, and remus’ pranks was them putting a bucket of glitter by every door frame for each room

so that when a teacher walked into their room, glitter spilled onto them

they made sure they didnt walk under it

the school def suspects them but they have no way to prove it

as the cameras picked up no footage of them

so the trio made it out scot free besides the school keeping a close eye on them

they got a good laugh out of the prank

the chaos crew actually does like thomas more than the other teachers

but they still cause chaos

like winding up the chains on a swing and having someone push them high as they spin

ok so this is gonna be a bit angsty but it is very important for the plot

...is what i would say if there was a plot shfjaa

but id say its important in the au so

while roman and remus do get along p well, when they were younger, their relationship was...not the best

so remus introduced virgil to roman when they were like 7 and a half because he knew roman wanted to meet his friend (he triple checked to make sure virgil was ok with it dw)

keep in mind, roman was pretty sensitive as a kid and took a lot of things to heart

so virgil usually banters with remus and they playfully insult each other,,,and virge kinda forgot that this kid wasnt remus, and so when he was doing the usual playful insulting, roman actually got really hurt

virgil had this moment of ‘oh shit’ and tried to apologize but roman had basically tuned him out at this point, very upset, and ran off, crying

virgil felt absolutely terrible but remus was like ‘i got this’ (spoiler alert: he did not have this) 

he tried to talk to his twin but ro just avoided them and only talked to patton instead of them

after a while of this (like...a month-), remus just got tired of his friend feeling terrible and of his twin ignoring them, and just barged into their room and confronted them about it

remus was like ‘he tried to apologize it was an accident stop ignoring us’ and roman was like ‘i dont like him he hurt my feelings and made me feel really bad’ (im great at summaries guys trust me) and the argument escalated into a shouting match, which lead to the two of them ignoring each other even more and just...it was a ruthless cycle

finally their friends were just done with this bullshit and forced them to reconcile, which was very awkward

so after that, they were on shaky terms, but no longer actively making fun of one another, but they didnt really introduce their friends to one another, just trying to rebuild their relationship

but then, you know what happened, all of their friend groups merging after lo felt bad and awkward around dee, ro, and pat, sat somewhere else, re and vee were gremlins, boom bam bop chaos crew ( my summary expertise coming out again B) )

so yeah, once their friend groups merged they started to get along a lot better, and while there is still bad moments, they can, with 100% certainty, call each other brothers
