What in the actual fuck is this? @liberal_party Does this sound like diversity to you?-----The original video was taken down but you can see it here. #cdpoli Here’s Liberal Party of Canada for Windsor-West, Sandra Pupatello: https://twitter.com/i/status/1438224040263487488 https://www.instagram.com/p/CT69Wb9lS0k/?utm_medium=tumblr
At a time when Canadians are looking for stability and leadership, Justin Trudeau has given them corruption, chaos, and cover-ups. #cdpoli https://www.instagram.com/p/CEIqa5PAxd2/?igshid=1b27jsywxyebs
Do Progressives/liberals(small l) unwittingly reinforce the Power of the Right and Trump supporters by failing to reach out and dialogue?
Yes, it’s about power, and, yes, social movements can certainly create a strong counter-power, but how that counter-power chooses to engage with power and its supporters to communicate and, most importantly, to effect potential transformational change matters. More than one strategy is required, the failure of which to recognize has been a continual, persistent weakness of the progressive movement, in my judgment, within both Canada and U.S.
Progressives have for the most part relied heavily on the rhetoric and demonstration of protest - placards and solidarity marches in the street - and that solidarity is necessary, to be sure. They’ve also had a faint hope that a formal political party like the NDP, Greens, or Democrats might rescue them and bring about some sort of meaningful institutional change. And of course social media such as Facebook and Twitter have not been used strategically as an opportunity to engage with non-progressives but merely, for the most part, as another feel-good occasion to wallow comfortably in progressive solidarity. (”They’ll never listen to us anyway. Why bother with these bigots and xenophobes.”)
But as Trump supporters in both the U.S.* and those who vicariously support him in Canada (for a variety of reasons) have been hinting if not telling us outright for a few weeks now, progressives’ dismissive unwillingness to dialogue, even if the premises are wobbly, is just alienating further those at least willing to discuss issues and, in fact, reinforcing, deepening - by that alienating effect - their stance in support of Trump and the Right in general. Losing this willing-to-discuss Trump cohort does not serve any progressive purpose and, in fact, I would argue inhibits meaningful forward movement in this age of divisiveness.
Finding a way to engage with the Other is never a waste of time, and without that engagement bringing about real, transformational change becomes all that much harder.

People who make fun of Justin Trudeau’s mother Margaret because of her history of depression and bipolar disorder and other health issues are the lowest form of cynical, partisan, political turd.
Have you ever considered these things before? Anyone can claim to "be the only person or party to balance the budget". All you need to do is hire some consultants for $90,000 a day for 8 months.
