Xiao Yi Qing’s heart just breaks at Ah Jing’s announcement. She has just pledged herself to Listening Snow Tower and fight for him; however, she has also promised that the day he loses to her is the day she will kill him. This coming from the woman he cherishes has to just hurt. Sad!!
These two have been separated for 3 years and Ah Jing still doesn’t know he is her super secret savior from her poisoning. She has been traveling around the world fighting her father’s enemies and having to depend on herself. Coming to the Tower, she still is only thinking for herself.
While Yi Qing would sacrifice anything for her (and pretty much will), she’s not there yet. She has hesitations when it comes to him and while she has a crush that doesn’t mean she’s opened herself up to him.
She doesn’t see that Yi Qing is in love with her. All she sees a man who can use her like a weapon. She doesn’t recognize the care and protection that Yi Qing would offer her in a heartbeat. Not yet.

After going through life and death situations multiple times, getting poisoned multiple times, losing his mother and promising to get married eventually...
After all that, he finally chooses to smile: when he’s dying. It’s a pitiful, blood-filled smile, but he’s trying to show her that he’s happy. However, she’s too far in tears and despair for him.
