Cedric Doumbe obliterates Jordan Zebo in 9 seconds - PFL Paris

This man is worth his weight in gold to PFL.

Cedric Doumbe KOing a MMA Factory prospect in 9 seconds and then exposing Fernand Lopez (owner of MMA Factory) as a wife beater in front of a huge crowd on national TV in Paris, leading to several of his best fighters (Baki and Lazy King) leaving the camp is the most I’ve ever seen a man get obliterated publicly without having hands put on him.

Cedric Doumbe get ups and grip breaking from his fight with Baki Chamsoudinov.

Fight ended in comedic fashion (sweep the cage), but there was a ton of promising stuff for those who want Doumbe to do well long term in MMA.

Here Doumbe is using butterfly guard to get up after being taken down. Simple stuff. Hands on the biceps, stopping Baki from throwing punches or getting his chest down on him. As soon as Baki tries to break out, he elevated Baki’s hips, gets his legs underneath him and frames out to stand.

While Baki is able to immediately get to Doumbe’s back, Doumbe did manage to stand up here to fight hands. He overhooks Baki’s right arm and grabs the bicep his his left. He elevates with a singular butterfly and spins out from underneath Baki. Probably could have avoided giving up the back but a promising for a kickboxer facing his first ever wrestler.

This one isn’t anything fancy. Just Doumbe breaking grips and then using wrist control to turn and face Baki.

Baysangur “Baki” Chamsoudinov takes win over Cedric Doumbe in bizarre finish.

Doumbe appears to call time out in the 3rd as there was something wrong with his foot. Bali waves to the ref that Doumbe doesn’t want to fight and Goddard stops it. According to Doumbe, he thinks he has glass or something in his foot. A splinter perhaps?

Before that, it was a pretty good prospect fight. You had Baki, who got to show off some of his grappling chops. Took Doumbe down early off a couple of caught kicks. Doumbe also got to show his defensive grappling. He used butterfly to get up off his back from guard. He was granby rolling out of back control. And by the 2nd, he was avoiding takedowns completely and starting to touch Baki with leg kicks and hard strikes. Sucks about the ending but it’s a good look for both guy’s future in the sport.

Cedric Doumbe vs Baissangour "Baki" Chamsoudinov - PFL Europe Paris

The ending of this fight aside, this was an incredibly promising performance from former Glory Kickboxing champion Cedric Doumbe (5-1) in his continued journey through MMA. He defended takedowns pretty well and had some legit good get ups when he was put on his back. As he builds more confidence with throwing his full arsenal in the cage, it'll be interesting to see how that holds up.

Doumbe will be fighting at home in Paris again this week as part of Bellator Champions Series: Paris this Friday (May 17). He is set to square off with Jaleel Willis (18-5), who is himself a dedicated wrestler if memory serves.
