Being on here for 16 years is wild to think about. I was a completely different person back then compared to now.

I'll always have a soft spot for this site because it was one of my early experiences of seeing that the internet could be dope when used in the right way.

Without tumblr I probably never would have gotten into podcasting (shout out to the @theanticool) which in turn helped me become a much better streamer.

Got put on to a lot of good music on here too. And it was the first place where I had any kind of following.

I've also got a few untold tumblr stories that I can't say out of respect for the homies lol. But being on here has definitely had an impact on my actual life.

this makes me kinda wonder if maybe the death of vine is what started the transition . apps were more unique before that

I was late too all social media not named Myspace so I could be wrong lol.

But from the outside looking in. Vine died, tik tok picked up a few years after. Tik Tok exploded especially during the pandemic. And then everybody started copying of tik tok.

Now Youtube shows you more shorts than long form videos, IG might be more about reels now than pictures like it used to be. And we don't even talk about Facebook lol.

It's all a mess. I hate it for Youtube the most because it was my favorite of all of em. That site has fallen off a cliff ever since they started getting into shorts. I hate it.

this a weird time for the internet cuz there’s not one social media app everyone is using, so they all feel empty and boring .

at one point everyone was on MySpace so it was goin up everyday. Then it was Facebook , then it was twitter etc

we need one cool social media app that everybody uses so this internet shit can be fun again

I'm gonna throw Youtube in this also. A lot of these apps lost their sauce because everybody started copying each others homework instead of sticking to what made them fun in the first place.
