Hydroxychloroquine can increase light sensitivity and vision changes. • COX-2 inhibitors like Celecoxib can cause irritation, with a breakout in rashes... • There is an increased risk of non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSC) for people being treated with DMARDs such as methotrexate and some biologic therapies. These medications also increase the risk of NMSC recurrence. • Methotrexate can irritate the skin where sunburn has occurred previously... • Long-term corticosteroids thins the skin, making it more likely to burn, and more susceptible to wrinkling and thinning of the skin (skin atrophy)."

Maryland Medicaid is denying my celebrex, saying I MUST try at least 3 other NSAIDs before I can be approved for it now (I've been on it for years), despite it being clearly recorded since the age of nine that I have CROHN'S DISEASE, a type of inflammatory bowel disease, and celecoxib is the ONLY NSAID I've been cleared to take because I'm at risk for a fucking G.I bleed if I take regular NSAIDs. What the fuck.

If I can't take celebrex then I'm stuck with tylenol, and with the new diagnosis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, I may not even be allowed to take that anymore pending my hepatology appointment in a few weeks. AND I can't even take opioids bc they have a potentially fatal interaction with one of my psych meds I absolutely refuse to go off.

My doctors are appealing but it's fucking ridiculous. Celebrex and tylenol are the literal only things I can take for pain relief and those might be taken away from me too
