Mercurius Retrogradus in Scorpio
Last round of Mercury’s quarterly backspin, stargazers. Mercury goes Rx, October 13, to Tuesday, November 3, in the sign of Scorpio no less. For those of us stateside, yes, the last day of Mercury retrograde is Election Day.
Since this retrograde is occurring in a Plutonic ruled sign, the themes here will be all things Scorpionic. It’ll be a period of transformation, on a personal and a global scale. The air will be shrouded in intensity. Remember...
Scorpio
is a water sign ruled by both Mars [ruler of the 1st house] and Pluto [Ruler of the 8th House] and is the sign of death and rebirth. Shadow side of this energy is obsession, distrustfulness, and paranoia. Working at their highest vibration, Scorpio is powerful, loyal, and highly intuitive. Moreover, Scorpio is represented by the phoenix. A symbol of constant rebirth.
During this retrograde, we have the opportunity to released outdated methods of communicating and find more practical ways of getting our thoughts and opinions across. Of course, we must not forget the shadow traits mentioned earlier. Since Mercury rules the mind and is taking a tour through Scorpio’s Metropolis, beware of paranoid thinking. Of course the course of events this year have been difficult for many, You — and those around you — may feel excessively hyperaware of your surroundings and the people in them. Mercury in Scorpio can cause us to be hyper suspicious, even of those we deeply trust. Family, friends, lovers...Take care however, not to pull away or turn against those you care for unnecessarily. Yes, during this retrograde, will cause us to see people for exactly who they are, and it can be profoundly upsetting. But don’t let unfounded insecurities or trains of thought get out of hand. is the messenger of the gods. This planet rules communication, travel, and technology. When it goes retrograde, those areas of our life become unpredictable and chaotic. So what do we typically, this particular time period is infamous for:

Regardless of the sign, whenever a planet goes RX, we are met with an opportunity to recalibrate. To review and redo the sectors of life the planet has dominion over. So, while communication issues will occur and you’ll want to rake over contracts and documents 10 times before sending them off, you can also correct and redo any communication errors you've made in the past. All these retrogrades are, are a mirror. An opportunity for you to reflect and do better. Second chances are possible as well. Yes, it’s very common for past loves to come back around wanting to know what you’re up to. And since Scorpio is the sign that rules sex, passion and karmic bonds [8th house], don’t be surprised if major confessions come about. Skeletons coming out of the closet. Opportunities for closure can come about as well [if you’re the forgiving type]. Take care to wrap it up and be safe if things get hot and heavy.
It’s advisable to triple-check everything- texts, emails, Dm’s, all of that. Set aside extra time into your agenda when traveling in case of delays. Pay attention to all those little lights on your car’s dashboard. They’re there for a reason. Have you checked your oil levels lately? Bring an extra charger and keep that screen protector on. This last cosmic backspin will be a wild ride but that doesn’t mean you can’t be prepared. With so many planets direct in Capricorn grounding will be a theme and a reality; take care to take time to do it. Venus is also in Virgo so we’ll want to pay extra attention and detail to the things we love. Speak up for ourselves and turn our energies inward. Self focus is more imperative than anything right now. No one can draw from an empty cup. Take time to unearth what your true passions are. Be patient. Stress less and observe everyone around you. You’ll have more of an ability to do so now than ever. Mercury on vacation just means you have to do some extra work, that’s all. But Pluto just went direct. Pluto always has the upper hand. And Mercury in Scorpio’s hyper intuitive energy will help you flex your brain muscles more than ever. So stay calm, stay focused, mind any paranoia and potential for drama, meditate and accept emotions that surface during this intentional slow-down and reset period. You won’t come out the same.
