adulting meme: 4, 14, 24!
4: If you were to acquire a baby tomorrow what would you name it?
I've always loved the name Isobel because of the Bjork song, but it turns out it's a super-common baby name these days, so no. Um. Hermione? Why isn't anyone naming their girls Hermione?!
14: Is sex better now than it was in high school/college?
I didn't have sex in high school. We'll have to loosely define college--I was in community college off and on for about seven years. So, er, the four years after I graduated? Um. My first serious boyfriend after high school was a total sweetie but we weren't sexually compatible, and we were together about, oh, three years? The next dude was completely the wrong person for me but the sex was absolutely amazing, and we were together just over two years. (No but seriously: his favorite thing ever was giving oral, to the point of a fetish--which is just going to be hard for other straight dudes to live up to. But we fought nearly constantly and were terrible to each other.)
And now I'm with someone where the sex is frequent AND good AND we're compatible in other ways. On top of that, I know myself a lot better. So, I'd say better now.
(that was an essay, oops)
24: Have your political views changed since you left school?
I've actually become WAY more blase about some of them. I look at the passion I had then--I went to the WTO protests in Seattle! I lived in a tree off and on for several months! --and I wonder what the hell happened. To a certain extent, I know that a lot of the problem is that the day-to-day grind of activism and organizing, the meetings and discussion and research and looking at who's in office or which judge is trying which case and dealing with laws and bureaucracy and all that shit--despite knowing how hugely important all that stuff is, I'd rather stab myself in the face than do any of it.
I will say that tumblr has really strengthened my feminism and whatnot. Not that I do much about it other than talk about it with people who mostly agree with me.
In any case I've always been a feminist and a tree-hugger and a little closer to socialist.
