「和合 -心音」

「和合」は、春画の交合の中で交情する手や足の繋がりに焦点をあてた彫刻。兼子は、春画表現の中でも特にその手足に注目しており、男女の交情が最も露わになる部位であることを発見した。手足だけをトリミングして平面から立体化することにより、繋がりの境界と接点を強調した作品となっている。

「和合 -心音」は歌川国芳の春画に着想を得ている。男女が手を合わせるその形を心臓の形に見立てその鼓動を表現している。琥珀をイメージして作られた透明素材には樹脂を使用しており、経過と共に黄変していく様を楽しめる。
