I'm restarting TWoK and augh. My brain is consumed with "What could Kal have done to save Cenn and the others?"

If he'd gone alone to the fullplate lighteyes without his subsquads, the sharbearer could've still taken out his men, even with the two additional subsquads defending the wounded.

If he stayed with them instead of killing the lighteyes then he could've seen and defended the men from the shardbearer, but undoubtedly some of his men would've fallen.

And even if he killed the shardbearer there, Amaram could've just killed all of his men like he does in canon... Like the only scenario I see working out is Kal taking the shards and maybe fighting Amaram? He'd have been a lighteyes but uh. Idk. Amaram would've still been third dahn, and Kaladin fourth. Kaladin would've had to desert to save his men after Restares convinces Amaram to take the shards for himself.
