i love the idw comics, mtmte/lost light in particular, because they're so batshit to explain. like yeah the God Of Death? the being that everyone sees at the end of their life, some see it standing over their fallen comrades for only a moment before disappearing? yeah he's just some guy. yup. literally just some dude with crazy tech and a time traveling briefcase, mhm.

but no he is also the Literal Actual God Of Death too. yeah no that wasn't a joke he just forgot that's what he was and just so Happened to go back to doing his original thing. yeah.
