The corner store cashier is a pervert.
It’s just past midnight, and you’re watching the old man behind the counter flirt poorly with two—clearly drunk—college girls while your Big Gulp cup slowly fills with bright-blue slurpee.
For the last two weeks, you’ve ended up here—at this rundown corner store behind your apartment complex, in front of the same humming machine. It’s a terrible habit for a broke college student (eight fucking dollars for frozen sugar water), but the alternative is another night alone in your dorm, and that feels worse.
Since arriving on campus early at the beginning of August, you’ve made exactly zero friends. In the small, desolate part of your brain that’s somehow remained hopeful after all these years, you’d thought that moving to the Big Apple for freshman year of college would offer a new start.
How hopelessly-fucking-wrong you were.
New York City has proved to be the same in every way, and maybe even worse, considering the lack of sunshine that at least made Florida tolerable for so many years of your life.
Memories of the Sunshine State flash behind your bright blue eyes, and it’s almost like you’re back on the beach with your sisters, whose laughs you’re reminded of by the girls giggling drunkenly at the counter. You’re snapped back to the present then, your Big Gulp cup now filled with what’s left of the cash in your wallet. Maybe you’d be more pissed about the price if the reward wasn’t so good: a reason to have come out of your apartment on campus, something to snack on during whatever random movie you’ll watch alone tonight, and sugar to help the never-ending headache that seems to constantly throb behind your eyes.
But maybe the powers that be hate you, or are doing you a favor and trying to tell you that the sugar is in fact the problem, but your moment of happiness is over as quickly as it started.
You’re turning around when it happens, walking towards the counter to pay. Your eyes are on your slurpee and both hands are occupied—one with the straw that you’re trying to remove the paper from, and the other holding the cold plastic cup—leaving you with no way to brace yourself.
The cup’s in your hands one second, and splattered across the old tile in a messy blue death the next.
“Fucking fuck me,” you mutter, your short temper already unraveling. You’ve never been good at managing your feelings, especially anger, and it’s only gotten worse since landing in this godforsaken city.
“Sh-shit, I’m so sorry.” You look up then, your blue eyes meeting the brown ones of a boy your age standing in front of you, blue flecks of what was supposed to be the highlight of your night staining his white shirt. His hair’s a messy mop of brown curls, and his eyes are kind and sorry, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
He’s on his knees before you have a chance to say anything, having grabbed a random roll of paper towels off the counter next to the soft-drink machine. You’d bumped him as you were going to pay, or maybe he’d bumped into you, and now he’s cleaning up the mess at your feet.
“I was totally on my phone, not looking,” he says without looking up, cleaning the blue splatter as best he can. “That’s my bad. I’m really sorry. I’ll pay for your new one.”
You breathe out through your nose as you look down at him, his brown hair flopping into his eyes. He looks up for just a second, his cheeks still pink, and looks away immediately when he sees that you’re looking down at him.
“It’s fine,” you huff out, trying not to flip your shit on a stranger over a cup of frozen sugar water. But gosh damnit. Can you ever get anything you want? “I didn’t pay for it yet.”
The brown-haired boy stands now, tossing wet, blue-stained paper towels into the hole in the counter, along with your ruined Big Gulp cup.
“Are you sure? ‘Cause really, I’m—“
“I said it’s fine, damn,” you mutter, too agitated to keep speaking to the guy who ruined your night, and too over everything to care enough and accept his offer of a new slurpee. But even as the words leave your mouth, you register the look on his face—earnest, almost guilty, like he really is sorry. But to you, it’s the kind of look that’s never been anything but insincere—the kind your mother wore more than makeup. "I'm sorry, honey. I love you, Jake" has never meant much to you. Never will. Not from anyone.
Recovering, the subtle hesitation’s there for half a second before you shove it down, irritation winning out, because who cares if he’s nice? Your night’s still fucked.
You brush past him, heading for the corner store’s doors as you pull out your phone. R&B fills your Airpods, blocking out the jingle of the bell as you open the door, walking out into the warm August night.
The corner store’s nearly out of view before you’re aware of the white-knuckle grip you have on your phone, case digging into your palm. You slide it back into your hoodie pocket, trying to breathe like an old therapist once taught you. Box… box breathing—or some shit like that?
But the truth settles in heavy: now you’ve got to walk back pissed, empty-handed, and alone in the dark.
Only upside? You’ve still got eight whole dollars to your name.

Summary: You're asked to deliver a letter to Haitani Rindou but his brother Ran mistakes it as a love confession. It's not a love letter! You swear! Unfortunately, the heart sticker on the envelope doesn’t help your case and neither does Rindou’s reaction
You never expected a simple task from your homeroom teacher would have your day spiraling like this. As a student council member you often found yourself taking care of classroom duties. Things such as organizing papers, collecting homework assignments, and delivering messages from your teachers to the students or vice versa.
Today was a day like any other. The only exception being that your homeroom teacher had asked you to hand deliver an envelope to Haitani Rindou. He had said it was nothing serious, only that he did not have time to go around looking for the delinquent student.
It was a simple request.
So now, why were you standing in the hallway with the two delinquent Haitani brothers staring at you like you’d just professed your love?
You held out the envelope with both hands, as proper and professional as possible.
“Haitani Rindou-san,” you say clearly. “Please take this letter..”
Rindou stares at your outstretched hands, and slowly glances back to you. His brother besides him can't contain a howled laughter.
Immediately, Rindou’s ears turn red. He doesn’t move to take the envelope.
You tilt your head, clearly confused. Until you notice the sticker on the envelope.
Without really thinking, you had grabbed one of your cute stationery stickers to seal the envelope. Except, it wasn’t just any sticker. No, it was a giant pink heart from a valentine’s set you had jokingly bought not too long ago.
And of course the heart sticker had to be right in the center. And of course you didn’t notice it until just now.
“Oh?” Ran drawls from where he’s lounging behind his younger brother, one arm draped across Rindou’s shoulder. “A love letter? From innocent Marie-chan?” Ran’s eyes sparkle as he teases you.
You felt your face heating up. “I—it’s not a love letter! It’s from our homeroom teacher. She asked me to deliver it!””
You want to crawl into a locker and slam the door shut.Your words tumble out in a breathless rush, and the heat in your cheeks spreads to your ears.
“...So it’s not a confession?” Rindou asks quietly.
You freeze.
That’s the first thing he’s said since you got here. Your heart does something weird in your chest.
“It’s really not,” you manage, but your voice cracks halfway through.
He finally reaches for the envelope, his fingers brushing yours.
“Okay” he mumbles.
You’re not sure who’s more embarrassed now. Him or you.
Ran, naturally, is having the time of his life. “Man, this is even better than a confession. Look at you two. Blushing like a bunch of middle schoolers. You sure you don’t want to just kiss and make it official now.”
“I have to go!” You don’t wait for a response. You spin on your heel and practically sprint down the hallway.
Behind you, you swear you hear Ran laughing and Rindou telling him to shut up.
You’re hiding in your homeroom class during lunch. You’re sorting through some club request forms when a shadow falls across your desk.
You look up to see Rindou in front of you. Your heart beats faster.
“I read the letter,” he says. “It was about a makeup assignment.”
You blink.
“Okay.”
There’s a small beat of silence. You can hear the chatter of other students in passing and your own heart thudding in your ears.
“If you,” he says slowly. “Ever wanted to give me a confession letter… I wouldn’t mind the heart sticker.”
You’re blushing again. “I mean, if I ever did want to give you a confession letter. Then, yes, I’ll use a heart sticker.”
“…Okay,” he blushes.
Neither of you knows what else to say. The blush on both of your faces speaks for itself.

Each day was more glorious than the last. You had been created and raised in Heaven, living to serve and obey before you could even fly. Loyalty and devotion was all that you knew and all that you needed. It wasn’t until you had been approached one day by the most handsome man you’d ever seen; his messy brown hair and confident grin swept you off your feet before you even had a chance to think twice. HIs golden eyes just met with yours and you felt it in the deepest parts of your soul.
Not that you had complained. You didn’t know who he was right away, he was just this - dare you say - devilishly charming man. He showered you in attention and care day in and out. Everything about him was you - you were the only one he saw, and he made sure you felt that in everything he did. It wasn’t until the two of you had been on a walk in the park one afternoon, hands intertwined, did you finally learn who he really was. It was when you passed another angel who immediately stumbled over their feet to stand and bow to your boyfriend. Saying how honored he was to meet THE first man.
It was safe to say you sat down and had a long talk with him after that. You had not been mad that he had kept that to himself, but you had so many questions to ask him. About his previous wives, his children, humanity! Under all of your burning questions, you were soon to learn that this was about to change the trajectory of your angelic life. You were flattered to have caught his eye, but what happened next was, unbeknownst to you, the beginning of the end.
One day, Adam came home in the best mood you’d ever seen. He had been promoted! He sat you down and explained how his ex wife, Lilith had been trying to empower the demons of hell and the Seraphim had decided it was time to protect heaven - creating a heavenly army of angels to protect them, and he was the captain of this army. He took your hands in his and looked you in the eyes and asked you to join him, to stand by him and help him lead them.
But that was years ago. Since then you’d had been trained to be a deadly killer, something you never once thought you’d have done. All you’d known was the serene and peaceful life of Heaven. Then your eyes had been opened to the sinful and destructive ways of Hell. You had been reluctant at first, but you had been programmed to obey, and you weren’t about to let the love of your life down either. He had entrusted you to help with his project, and you would make him proud.
Now you stood strong, powerful, and at his side through it all. You had noticed the potential in another angel, her name was Lute. You saw such promise in her and had given her a squad to lead, and lead she did. Sometimes you worried how eager she was to kill, but you tried to keep it chalked up to the urge to protect Heaven from the Sinners in Hell. She was loyal to Heaven, and that was what this army needed.
Zoned out, you felt a hand at your waist, turning to look into those golden eyes you had grown to love so much. His grin was wide as he looked down at you, he was ready. Smiling back at him, you placed your hand on his chest and stood on your tip toes to press a quick kiss to his lips. Pulling you closer he kissed you back before he pulled back, his eyes watched your face with adoration,
“You ready for this Babe? Going to rip apart some of those filthy sinners, make sure they know their place” he chuckled darkly. You had to admit it was hot watching him lead, not so much in watching him kill. But as always you reminded yourself - you were doing something terrible for the best. Offering him a small smile you nodded,
“I’m ready to get this over with so we can go home and .. celebrate” you blinked up at him with feign innocence. To this he grinned and brought your faces ever closer to breath against your lips, “that’s my fucking girl” before he kissed you and then raised his arm to signal the start,
“It’s time! Let’s go and show those filthy fucking sinners what damnation really gets them!”
The choir of cheers that came from the exorcist army was an eerie sound. The clangs and screams of blades being drawn was the last thing before they began to charge.
“I’ll make sure they make you proud, sir” the last one, Lute, proclaimed. Her mask bore into your face, and you could feel the burn of her hatred towards you. You respected her, but you were not blind to how she looked at Adam when he wasn’t looking. You knew how much she despised you, but refused to pay her any mind. He dismissed her and then looked at you,
“Go make me proud, babe”
To that you jumped back, drawing your blade, pulling your mask down over your head as he did as well. With a nod at one another, you went your own ways.
Like many other exterminations you blocked out most of the violence, allowing yourself to black out. It was the moments you’d come to - the flash of your blade, the smears of red, the stains that splattered against the buildings. The stains that covered your clothes and bloodied your gloved hands. Not to mention the bloodcurdling screams that would snap you back into reality. You’d never admit just how sick the violence made your stomach twist.
Floating above the ally near one of the outter rings you took a deep breath, trying to ignore the trembling in your hand. The bodies before you painted the perfect image of a family, a mother and child shredded by your blade, the mothers arms wrapped around the small child in a protective manner. Not that it did them much good. Not against your angelic sword. A shaky breath escaped you as you forced yourself to look the other way.
It wasn’t until you heard noises coming from the wrong direction, you gripped your sword and flew off towards one of the other rings. You knew you had been given strict orders to slaughter the Sinners. The Hellbourn were safe, to be left untouched by your blades. But as you closed the distance you could see some angels cornering some Imps.
“Halt!” You shouted, watching as all eyes snapped to you. The angels clearly faltered as they realized they had been spotted, rage flurried in your chest at the scene. In this war, they were attacking innocent bystanders. Even if you were to dispose of any resident of Hell, you were not going to go against the Seraphim’s strict orders. “Those don’t look like sinners to me. I suggest you return to your stations and take care of your jobs. This transgression will not go unpunished, so don’t make it worse” you spat.
The angels frantically crashed into one another as they muttered out various sorrys and excuses as they passed you. Once the air cleared you looked back at the Imps and jumped down, watching as they trembled. “Go, try to avoid this side of the ring during these days in the future” you warned as they took their turn in scrambling over one another to get out of that street, fleeing for safety at your mercy.
“Why would you let those filthy scum leave!?” An accusatory voice demanded. Turning over your shoulder you could see Lite standing just down the street, clearly seething in rage at what she had just witnessed.
“Why wouldn’t I, Lute?” You scoffed as you turned to face her, “you know full well that our orders are strictly to kill Sinners. The Hellbourn, no matter how filthy, are not to be harmed during the exterminations”
Laughing wildly, she throws her head back and you glare at her as she laughs at you with no shred of shame. Charging you, you barely manage to block her with your sword before she hits you with her spear.
“How could Adam be so soft on someone so weak!? I’ll be sure to show him just how pathetic you really are!” She hissed, her rage fuelling her as she reigned down a barrage of attacks, each one more vicious than the last.
“Damn it, Lute! Fall back” you hiss, taken off guard you are left defending yourself to her assault. Finally she brings the bar of her spear down on your wrist, causing you to drop your sword and stumble back, with a quick spin of the spear she knocks you towards the ground.
Spinning to catch your fall, you feel the bite of the ground through your gloves as you manage to catch your fall. Grunting you try to push yourself to your feet, but suddenly a scream rips from your lungs as you feel her spear pierce through your shoulder, pinning your body to the ground. The golden blood started oozing from the wound, pooling on the ground around you. To make it worse you could feel a sharp heel pin the small of your back
“You no longer give me orders or any kind, you disgusting weakling,” she spat, her hands grabbing your wings. Between the heat radiating out of your shoulder, you could feel the tension in your back before another scream exploded from your chest as you felt your wings rip from your back. Tears started to flood from your eyes as the pain became unbearable. Everything burned as you peered through the tears to the bright flash of her spear as she pulled the blade from your shoulder.
The flash continued, but it was different. The white gleam started changing colours. The ringing in your ears started to thump, louder and louder.
Finally the screams had turned to cheers. Opening your eyes you found the strobing lights flashing in your view. The upside down faces cheering you on as you dragged yourself upright again, your hands sliding down the sliver pole as you crouched, swaying and swinging along it.
That was years ago. This was now. Stripped of your wings and left for dead, you had to fight to accept and accommodate to the world in which you had been raised to despise. Somehow you managed, you survived. Finding this place, you have come to find peace in this club. Dancing and earning a living to stay comfortable. It was not what you had ever considered yourself doing, but after the initial shock wore off you just accepted that this was your fate. Lute had stripped you of your wings, Adam probably thought you to be dead, and to make things even better he never came to find you. They left you here and this was all you had.
You managed to find your way in the Lust ring. You had gotten lucky and found a job as a waitress. Working at Ozzie’s you got acquainted with his boyfriend and things led to other things. For a little bit you did some freelance work with Fizzaroli’s brother, before getting promoted up to dancer. Things weren’t perfect, but you were comfortable and that was what really mattered. Survival.
Finishing up your routine you cast a half lidded glance out into the audience, scanning over the sea of lustful and drunk faces. Same old, same old that was until you noticed a set of overlords in the crowd. Painfully recognizable everywhere thanks to how much reach their company got. The Vees sat at a VIP table near the back just watching you with an interest that caused a bad feeling in your stomach.
Looking back out you did one more pose, letting the cheers carry before winking and turning to strut off stage. The back had Imps and Hellbourn alike moving quickly to cover you in your silk robe. Thanks to your connections you had been given favourable treatment at the club, not to mention you managed to bring in quite a crowd. Ozzie had offered you to do private shows seeing how popular you were but you declined. This wasn’t ideal, but you'd rather have people look only and not be allowed to touch.
Whispering a quick thanks to your team you headed back down the private halls to your dressing room. Each step just gave you an uneasy feeling deep in your gut, and you considered saying something. However, you wouldn’t want to alarm anyone. Not when you could handle any creepy stalkers. It wasn’t like you were weak or defenseless. After all, in your time down here you had taken down a few Overlords that were getting a bit out of hand.
Steeling yourself you took a deep breath, praying that you had just been over thinking it and imagining the paranoia. After all, you had been in your own head a lot this evening. Grabbing the doorknob you twisted it and opened it, stepping into the dark room. Hitting the light you didn’t notice anything right away until you looked at your wardrobe. There were two people standing there, both turned and looked at you, grinning. One was tall, and painfully familiar. Valentino, the moth demon that you had heard Ozzie curse about on numerous occasions. The man stood in a long coat, his heart glasses gleaming as he pulled out a ratty skimpy dress and lifted his brows in interest,
“Oh chica, this would’ve looked amazing on you tonight,” he purred as he looked your way. You glare at him, but before you could speak a shorter girl scoffed as she flipped through her phone,
“Might have been fine if it wasn’t so outdated. Figured working in such a classy establishment, they would at least offer you better outfits. After all they don’t have anything from my lines in there, so clearly they lack taste,” she snickered, getting the other to laugh in response.
“I would suggest you both leave. This is a private dressing room, you don’t have permission to be back here.” You hissed out. Despite your comment neither of them budged, they just continued on judging your show clothes and Valentino just kept pulling out more and more revealing ones.
The shut of the door caused you to jump a little as you spun around to see the TV demon, Vox. He stood in front of the door grinning, his blue suit perfect, not a wrinkle to be seen. He held himself with confidence and power, and he had all of his focus on you.
“I don’t think we have to go anywhere.” He chuckled as he stepped forward slowly, starting to close the distance between the two of you. “After all we’re just here to talk, nothing more” he stated, extending a hand and motioning to a chair. Following his motion you looked back at him and scoffed. Just because their little sinners would bend over backwards for an Overlord, or three, didn’t mean you would. You weren’t some sinner, and you weren’t foolish enough to trust them farther than you could throw them.
“You better talk fast before I alert security. Asmodeus doesn’t take kindly to stalkers,” you hissed, making sure to emphasize his full name. You did notice the sneer that Valentino gave you at the mention of the Sin of Lust. Good to know that their hatred for one another was a mutual thing.
A deep chuckle came from Vox, he continued to stride forward, his mismatched eyes never once leaving you as he did, “you see, we have been watching for a while now. We just needed to prove you were who we thought you were. Sure enough, Mourning Angel, it seems as though we were right” he stated, making sure to put emphasis on your stage name.
“Yes, it looks like our sources line up. You see we had a dear friend of ours go missing a little while back. A few whispers in the street mentioned an angel had been left behind a few exterminations ago,” Valentino purred, looking over at you as he ran his lanky fingers through a feathery cape on your rack. Stepping further back you glared between the two men, there was no way they could’ve found out. Ozzie had a very strict no camera policy in his clubs. He sold lust, but he wasn’t scum. He respected his workers and their privacy. Especially since he knew of your situation.
“Word on the web says that someone with angelic weapons had taken down our dearest friend,” Velvette piped up, never looking up from her phone. Clearly she wasn’t happy about this, but she also didn’t want to be spending her time here. “There had also been a few rumors that this one dancer looked an awful lot like that strange assassin that took down our friend”
“So,” you scoffed, “this is hell, that could’ve been just about anyone. Not to mention people fabricate lies on the internet all the time”
You quickly glanced around, you hadn’t brought your weapons with you to work for a while now. Not that you needed to protect yourself here often with all of the provided security. Had you really been that sloppy on your last kill? Everything was flooding your senses as you tried to wrack your brain for your past hunts. Vox took another step closer,
“However, being as merciful and kind as we are” he started, causing giggles from the other two, “we thought you might like a little ultimatum, if you will. See we could just kill you and get rid of the problem all together, or we would like to offer you a little deal”
You could feel your phantom feathers ruffle at this. They wanted a deal? This causes worry to prick along your skin. If they were offering your help in exchange for your life, what kind of dirt did they have on you? Were they bluffing or did they actually have proof? Did you want to know, was this a risk you were willing to take?
“Why would I ever make a deal with you three anyways? I have no idea what you’re on about,” you laughed and shook your head, “I am a dancer at Ozzie’s, the best I have to offer if the fact that I can regularlly bring in a pretty decent crowd”
“Well I am so glad you brought that up,” Velvette finally spoke up, looking up from her phone with a wicked grin. With a flick of her finger a bunch of translucent screens appeared around you, and all of them featured you. Eyes widening you looked back at yourself on the various screens. Each of them were moments you were less than proud of. All you at different points, killing demons.
You felt your eyes flicker between each one. One of you masked, tearing out a demon's heart, another with your hands dripping as you stood over a slain demon. Finally you fell on the biggest one, one that was a video unlike all of the other pictures. You stood in your prime, sword covered in blood, the citizens running for their life as you removed your exorcist helmet.
Suddenly it felt like breathing was a chore, suddenly your throat was so dry that you couldn’t force a breath down. Clutching at your robe with your hand, you couldn’t remember the last time you felt fear like this. They knew. And either they would rid themselves of the angel that was hidden among them, or who knows what kinds of plans they had for you.
A flicker of electricity hit the room before you felt two sets of clawed hands rest on the tops of your shoulders. Looking up you were face to face with the TV demon as he grinned down at you,
“What do you say? I’m sure people would be lining up to take a stab at one of the ones who have killed millions of our own” he started and leaned down, “but if you make this deal with us - we will keep you safe, and just for the small price of your soul. You will help us with our work, and in turn we protect your little secret. Trust us with your future”
Looking forward you could see the shit eating grins that painted the other overlords faces. It sure seemed like you had been caught in their net, if they let this get out there wouldn’t be anywhere you could go to hide from the bloodthirsty citizens that craved revenge. They had made sure to perfectly fabricate this little meeting before they made their move, and now you had been backed into a corner with nowhere else to go.
It seemed like your life was about to change yet again, and probably not for the better.

Speak Ali! - This was full impulse don't expect anymore out of me- (do expect more out of me) Unless i feel like it. But I might not- Who knows honestly. Please send in request!! I am only accepting Lockwood right now, sorry :(
HE WAS AWAKE?! Pt.2
Lockwood barley asks for help,
And we all know it. He's an idiot who thinks he can do everything alone, no matter what. Me, George, And Lucy are always his anchors, we keep him from doing the stupidest shit, even if that means distracting him in less than ideal ways. Like aggressive flirting, just to let Lucy steal a case file. But we still get it done.
So when Anthony Lockwood himself knocked on my door at 2 in the morning with the most exhausted look on his face, let's just say I was more than concerned.
I was changing out of my ‘work’ shirt to put on an undershirt to fall asleep in. I'd been working on a new flare design all night and the shirt I was originally going to go to bed in had ash and grease all over it. when I heard a knock on the door. There he was my roommate, Employer, and “crush”, Anthony Lockwood. “Ant, what's up?- It's 2:36 in the morning, I was about to get in bed-”
His face screamed tired, his eye bags were deeper than normal and his hands were playing with the seam of his pajama pants pocket, like he does when he's nervous.
“I-” He whispered as if he was hesitant to ask in the first place. ”I can't sleep and I always sleep best when- You're in my room…just-” The way he rubbed the back of his neck, looking down at the ground, told me he was embarrassed. “Can I just sleep in here tonight…?” Anthony looked almost as if he regretted asking, like he should've just walked away instead of knocking on the door; Which he now stood in front of, wide open.
I nodded along with his words, moving away from my door and walking to my bed. “Just close the door after you come in, sleeping with it open-” He finished the sentence with me, already knowing what I was going to say. “-‘gives me anxiety’ I know Ali.”
When he walked into the room slowly, he was looking around at the posters and metal creations that hung from the walls and ceiling. There were things like metal dragons, butterflies with dazzling colors, Firefly's with handcrafted wings and many more insects and mystical creatures. “After we complete big cases I make a little statue and I hang it around the room…It's like reminding myself how far I’ve come.” His eyes landed on me next, I was already sitting on the bed, smiling at him warmly, my eyes closed, head leaned back from exhaustion.
“Come on Ant.” I patted next to me, laying down on my back moving closer to the wall so he had room to lay down to.
His posture says he's confident, like he's not afraid to make a wrong move. But his eyes are different. They look so hesitant, so terrified of how this could look to other people.
After a case went bad yesterday, Barnes called me Anthony's lover. He's been on edge since then, Maybe it hurt a bit when he got so defensive over the fact that I was in fact not his lover. It already hurts when I know he's just a flirty person to get what he wants, that when he flirts with me it doesn't mean I'm special. Now this? At least I know he doesn't like me back, before I went and tried to ask him on a date or something.
I faced towards the wall when he climbed into the bed, pulling the soft blanket over us both. Our routine moved like it did when I went into his room to sleep. His arm hooked under my body and pulled me into his chest, which felt cool with the silk pajama shirt he had on at the moment. Our legs tangled together, his face was pressed into the nape of my neck, and our breathing matched almost perfectly. This felt so normal, so nonchalant. But this is Lockwood we're talking about! He wouldn't do this with just anyone! Would he?
Ok, no he wouldn't- But he just trusts me! We’ve been friends for years, of course he trusts me. It's obvious I’m just a friend to him, and yes maybe it's not a friend thing to cuddle up to your friend while you press your face into their neck…like I said he just trusts me! It's a simple platonic thing to do when you go to a friend you trust for help sleeping!
But it would be so nice if he didn't mean it in a friendly way..For him to hold my hand, and laugh and walk with me to go on a date, Or maybe to cook dinner for our kids or babysitting…That sounds like heaven, an unrealistic heaven. But to be fair I do already basically babysit, but it's always me and George babysitting, not me and lockwood, mainly because we're babysitting him and Lucy during cases but still I can dream.
I turned my head around just enough to see his face, eyes closed, breathing soft, and nose pushed against my neck still. I tried to turn just enough to not wake him up but also be able to see him. I'm really hoping I didn't wake him up, or that he was really asleep, because this next part would be embarrassing if I did.
I placed a hand on his face, kissing the top of his head and running my hand through his hair. “I Love You, Anthony Lockwood. You stupid self-sacrificing idiot.” I turned around all the way and moved up a bit, his face laid on my chest, and my arms wrapped around his head holding him close.
Finally comfortable enough to fall asleep. It's been so long since I got a good sleep in my own bed, maybe the feeling of his hands on my back, pushing me closer to him, really did help me sleep, Maybe it made me feel protected, like I can be vulnerable again, like i'm safe in his ar- “Did you just call me a self-sacrificing idiot?-” SHIT-
thank you for reading to the end of this shit :D i can't promise a part two but hey i'll try.

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke were in no way new to hectic things. Hell, every day with them was an adventure! But this day Zenitsu was absent due to the stomach flu, so it left Tanjiro with Inosuke.
Or so the young baker's son thought, but he couldn't find the wild friend of his. Tanjiro was confused since they were by this time usually talking and heading towards their first class of the day. The young man started to get worried that Inosuke had also gotten stomach flu, but a sudden yelling caught his attention.
"Stop right there!"
"Hold it!"
"Oi, stop!"
Tanjiro turned to look and to his confusion, he saw Uzui-sensei, Tomioka-sensei, and Shinazugawa-sensei run after Inosuke.
"Nyah ha ha ha!" The young man laughed as he ran, "Just try and stop me!"
"I- Inosuke!?" Tanjiro gasped as he saw his friend run towards him… With a young woman thrown over his shoulder?!
"I- Inosuke-!" The baker's son was saying when he was suddenly caught by his friend and thrown on his other shoulder, "Janpiro! Good, come with me!"
"Eeh!?"
Finally, the two of them managed to lose the teachers who were after them, or rather, after Inosuke, but they had also left the school grounds and arrived at the park by the river close to the school.
"Nyah ha ha! I told you we would lose them!" Inosuke laughed and Tanjiro looked at his friend, ready to scold him a little, but then he noticed the woman, you, looking at him with big pretty eyes and a small smile.
"O- oh, greetings! Are you perhaps a friend of Inosuke?" The young man asked and you brightened up, but as you were about to reply, Inosuke called, "She is my new servant!"
"Inosuke, you can't just grab a girl and make her your servant!" Tanjiro cried out, "If Zenitsu knew what you were up to, he would freak out…"
"Monitsu isn't here, is he?"
"Still…" The young man sighed as he turned to look at you and smiled, "Anyway, what is your name?"
"I'm Romu!" You cheered happily and saluted them, "And I'm new!"
"Ah, I see," Tanjiro nodded while Inosuke shouted, "She is my new servant!"
"I'm new!" You nodded and the kind young man looked at you, "Are you perhaps new to Kimetsu Academy?"
"I'm…" You hummed thoughtfully, "I'm new!"
"Ah, anyway…" Tanjiro sighed as he looked at you and smiled a little, "What were you doing that made the teachers chase after you?"
"I was snooping!"
"Snooping?" The young man repeated and you nodded, "Yes! I was trying to find some dirt about Director!"
"Eh!?" Tanjiro was shocked, "Who told you to do that?!"
"I-!" You were saying when you stilled and then frowned, "I… I can't remember! They had black hair though!"
"That could be literally anyone…" The young man sighed and Inosuke looked at his friend, "Wait, who is the Director?"
"Principal's husband, Inosuke."
"Who?"
Tanjiro sighed as he attempted to remind Inosuke that the director had handed them the winning tickets during the Halloween competition.
While Tanjiro and Inosuke talked you noticed a group of small kids playing nearby with a ball. You felt tempted to go and join the kids and you smiled as you rushed towards them… But then one kid threw the ball too high and too fast and a small girl went running after the ball, only to run straight to the road where a car was heading-!
Suddenly Tanjiro and Inosuke heard screeching, followed by a child's scream, and they both looked in shock to see how a car had stopped in the middle of the road, but what horrified them was the sight of you lying on the ground before the car.
"R- Romu!" Both young men shouted as they ran to you and the car's driver stepped outside of his vehicle, "Holy shit, she came out of nowhere!"
"Romu, are you alright!?" Tanjiro touched your shoulder and you glanced at him, opening your arms, showing them the small girl you had saved.
"I'm okay," You nodded as you looked at the girl crying in your arms, "Girl okay?"
"Let me see," The young man picked up the girl and looked all at her, and to his relief, she was perfectly fine, "She's okay! Just scared.
"Mimi!" Someone shouted and the students turned to see the girl's friends running at you guys, "Is Mimi okay?"
"Yes, she is thanks to Romu!" Inosuke exclaimed as he moved to help you up, but Tanjiro tried to stop his friend, "Inosuke, wait, we have to call an ambulance-!"
"No need!" You smiled as you bounced up like nothing had happened, "Car didn't hit Romu! Only nudged!"
"How-!" The two young men were shocked, they were pretty sure you had taken a hard hit, but you didn't look like it, and neither did the driver's car.
"Thank you for saving Mimi, big sis!" The kids gathered around you and you laughed with a huge happy smile, "I'm glad!"
"Ah, our ball!" One kid cried out and you all looked down to see their ball in the water below the bridge.
"Romu will get it!" You cheered and before anyone could stop you, you climbed off the fence and jumped into the water below… But when you didn't resurface, Tanjiro and Inosuke cried out after you in worry.
"Romu!"
"Shit, I can't see her!"
"Over there!" Finally, you surfaced, but you were only kicking and trashing your hands around instead of swimming smoothly. It didn't take a genius to realize that you weren't doing well and the boys were alarmed when they saw you go below the surface again.
"R- Romu!" Tanjiro and Inosuke called, putting their bags down and they were ready to jump after you, but suddenly, there was a blue blur that flashed next to them and the boys watched how their P.E. teacher Giyu Tomioka jumped after you.
"T- Tomioka-sensei!" Both young men called after their teacher and watched how he went below the surface… And finally, he resurfaced with you in his arms.
"Romu! Tomioka-sensei!"
You coughed as Tomioka held you above the surface and swam, taking you to the shore where Tanjiro and Inosuke rushed to you, alongside with the kids whose ball you had gone to retrieve.
As soon as you were on the safety of dry land, Tomioka let you go and you kept coughing, "Gah, Romu got water in her nose…"
"Thank God you're safe!" Tanjiro cried out and Inosuke copied his friend, "That was dangerous!"
"Big sis, are you okay?" The kids asked and you coughed one last time before smiling, "Ha ha, I forgot I don't know how to swim!"
How can someone forget something so important!?
"Are you alright?" Tomioka-sensei asked and you nodded, "Yes! Thank you for saving Romu!"
The teacher nodded, but before anyone could say or do anything else-!
"Romu!" Someone called and everyone turned to see a woman running at them. Tanjiro and Inosuke were stunned, she looked a lot like you.
"Mom!" You called as the woman dropped on her knees in front of you and grabbed your head to check you from every angle there was, "Oh my baby, are you okay?"
"Romu is fine!" You nodded with a big happy smile and your mother sighed, "You're gonna kill me one of these days, child!"
"Excuse me, but are you by any chance Romu's mother?" Tanjiro asked and your mother nodded as she looked at the two young men, "Yes, and you are?"
"Romu's new friends!" You cheered and Tanjiro and Inosuke smiled as they introduced themselves to your mother, "It's a pleasure to meet you, ma'am."
"Oh, what nice young men you are," Your mother smiled and then she turned to look at the P.E. teacher, "And thank you for finding my child."
"It was no trouble," The teacher nodded and Tanjiro looked at him, "Tomioka-sensei, how did you know to keep searching us?"
"I got a call from Romu's mother, telling us that she was a new student and had gone missing on her way to school," Giyu explained and your mother bowed to Tanjiro and Inosuke, "Thank you so much for keeping my daughter safe."
You blinked as you watched your mother bow so you copied her and bowed to the young men who had been there for you, "Thank you for helping!"
"Please raise your heads," Tanjiro smiled, "It was Tomioka-sensei who saved her from drowning."
"Thank you," Your mother bowed to Tomioka also before straightening her back and sighing.
"Romu is too kind-hearted and wants to help and befriend people wherever she goes…" Your mother shook her head, "Because of this, people tend to take advantage of her naive nature… Honestly, she takes too much after her father."
"My dad is special!" You laughed and your mother sighed, "I swear, this kid would lose her head if it wasn't attached to her, or give it away if someone told her to…"
"Please don't be mad…" The kids from earlier frowned, "She saved Mimi from being hit by a car!"
"Did you do that?" Your mother looked at you and you smiled, "I just did what dad would do!"
"Of course you would." Your mother shook her head and then looked at Tanjiro, "Thank you for helping her."
"Actually, it was Inosuke who helped her first," Tanjiro said and Inosuke smiled proudly, "Nyah ha ha! I've decided! The great Inosuke will look after Romu!"
"You don't need to-!" Your mother was saying, but you smiled as you got up and hugged Inosuke, "I like him! Inosuke is so kind to Romu!"
"Are you alright with this, sensei?" Your mother asked and Giyu nodded, "Don't worry, these are good boys. There isn't a bad bone in them."
"In that case…" Your mother nodded as she looked at all three of you, "Do you know what you are getting into?"
"We don't mind!" Both young men smiled, "I bet Romu would like my younger sister and our friend Zenitsu!"
"If you're sure…" Your mother sighed as she smiled, "Don't make them worry too much Romu!"
"I won't!" You smiled as you hugged Inosuke tighter.
"Now, if we are done here, we should go back to school to get Romu's uniform," Giyu said and you all cheered. You were smiling so happily, so excited for your new school life and friends.
