Liege Maximo as Aphrodite.
Liege Maximo as Aphrodite.
LIEGE MAXIMO AS APHRODITE!!!
Like I’m SURE there’s some perfect deep-Greek-mythology reason why Liege is Aphrodite, but GOD that implies SO MUCH!!!
He’s considered the Evil One (along with Megatronus) but what if he’s the emotion one?? The reason why mechs feel such a wide array of feelings? Maybe he’s only considered evil because he’s associated with fear and anger but he also can make love and joy?? Just ideas I have specifically iron him out (I have not seen Earthspark) just like- I’d expect Solus the Woman to be Aphrodite, BUT LIEGE MAXIMO????
Fascinating, I can see why Solus is Hephaestus (honestly I very much prefer Solus as Hephaestus, I wish her role as a blacksmith was emphasized more than her role as The Girl Prime™️), and there's a lot of fascinating roles here.
Honestly, considering what I know of Aphrodite's role in certain legends, I like the idea of Liege as Aphrodite a lot. The duality there could be *so* nice.
The Guiding Hand being involved here tripped me up a little, but I think we as a fandom NEEDDD an Ancients era including both the Thirteen and the Guiding Hand at the same time so much‼‼
So I was neutral on the Thirteen Primes in Aligned, but I really liked their portrayal in TF One. They seemed so much more approachable--like yes they were the first TFs and had a special connection to Primus, but on some level they were Just Guys, living amongst the other Cybertronians and doing their best to protect them. They had a secretary even!
And then on the IDW side of things, I really love the Guiding Hand as a religious concept. So I thought to myself, what if those two pantheons could be merged?
So once again we are talking about:
Mortilus (Death / Natural Cycles)
Epistemus (Knowledge)
Solomus (Wisdom)
Adaptus (Transformation / Change)
HOWEVER, they are not individual people, they are different facets of Primus. iirc the ancient Greeks and Romans did something like this, where they would have different cults worshipping specific aspects of a god?
So anyway, let's say whoever bears the Matrix (in this case Zeta Prime) is the conduit for Primus as a whole. That leaves four Digits of the Guiding Hand and twelve other Primes. Meaning, conventiently, that we can divy up three Primes apiece as devotees of Adaptus, Solomus etc etc. Each one exemplifying some aspect of their chosen Godly Digit.
So firstly let me sum up the Thirteen Primes, as seen in TF One, and their general "thing", if I could suss it out.
Zeta -Matrix Bearer / Leadership
Megatronus - Physical Prowess, War
Nexus Prime - Combination, Community (as he is a communal being, a combiner)
Amalgamous - Transforming
Solus - Invention / Creativity
Onyx - Beasts / Nature
Micronus -according to TF Wiki he was the conscience of the Primes, also Small
Quintus - Evolution? I dunno, I'm trying for something more general than "Likes to create weird organic beasts." . . . You know what, I'm going to give him Reproduction / Fertility. Even if the TF One bots reproduce via hot spot you just know this guy is gonna find a way to get pregnant, look at him, he's a freak.
Prima - In other continuities he's the Matrix-bearer, but here that falls to Zeta. His other thing is being the very first of Primus' creations. So my concept is that he is a nurturer of the other Primes, he takes on a big brother role, and therefore he gets Love (all kinds, not just romantic) and Harmony.
Alpha Trion - Knowledge, Literature
Vector - History, Time
Liege Maximo - Within the TF One universe he doesn't seem evil (maybe he would have been eventually had he not died heroically, but he did), so instead of Lies or Deception, I am giving him Conflict / Dialogue. (Specifically emotional and social conflict, because Megatronus has physical conflict covered.) Conflict is necessary for growth and change. Conflict must be acknowledged and negotiated in order to progress to a place of understanding.
Alchemist - Science / Food / Energon
OKAY, so now comes the hard part, divvying up the Primes among the aspects of the Guiding Hand. LMK if you would move any of them around!
Primus:
Zeta Prime
Epistemus (knowledge):
Alpha Trion
Vector Prime
Solus Prime (because she's an inventor)
Solomus (wisdom):
Micronus (due to him being "the conscience of the Primes")
Prima Prime
Liege Maximo
Adaptus (transformation):
Amalgamous Prime
Nexus Prime
Alchemist Prime
Mortilus (death / natural cycles):
Onyx Prime
Megatronus Prime (as a warrior who faces / brings death)
Quintus Prime
(I feel like Solus and Alchemist could also be swapped, because Solus transforms ideas into reality and Alchemist is a sciency guy.)
So anyway, my headcanon is that the Primes each celebrated / worshipped a particular aspect of the Guilding Hand and also that Cybertronians in general might have a little shrine or charm, either devoted to the entire Guiding Hand or to whatever aspect resonated with them the most. Which would be less weird and uncomfortable than having a shrine for a living Prime who you see about town and who lives down the street. But if you greatly admired Nexus Prime, for example, then you probably have a devotional respect for Adaptus.
I like thinking about post Lost Light, Rung waking up in the After spark. But not in any angsty scenario, just the bullshit he sees once he looks around.
Adaptus, Pharma, and Solomus/Tyrest are still fighting, Adaptus mainly getting tag-teamed by the other two, now that Pharma has his own body again. Epistemus is also nearby, ignoring the brawl as he talks to Censere/Mortilus, catching him up on the the whole "actually being amnesiac gods" thing. Once they notice Rung, things will calm down as they all talk a bit (except Pharma, who they made leave cuz he's not part of the family). It ends with Rung just deciding he'd rather go find his friends than deal with his brothers, but he does invite Censere go with him though.
polycule
pharma and adaptus comm for hadesharia 👀💖 this was really fun to do!
Pt. 1 if i was in charge of a transformers story
A long time ago, in the beginning of the tranquility of the universe, a giant roamed the cosmos. Daiakuron. He represented the thin balance between chaos and order. His existence was a lonely one, no life existed only scattered space rocks that had slowly built over the expanse of time. That is until he made two children from his very life essence.
Primus a being representing light and peace, tasked with interacting with the building of the cosmos to sustain life. Meanwhile, he created a being of darkness and destruction, Unicron, his task was to eat dead worlds so that the cosmos would be able to recycle. However, he did not consider that the brothers would eventually hate each other for their roles, over time they fought bitterly against each other instead of working together. With no other choice Daiakuron created another life, Gaea she was not as big as her brothers only half their size, she became known as the mediator, and she brought delicate peace to the brothers allowing the balance to continue.
For her service, Daiakuron created a being not linked to his spark, a bot named Atlas to be Gaea's love. The two worked tirelessly together to keep the peace between Unicron and Primus.
Jealousy burned inside Unicron however, and he created a wife of his own, Gozer. Only for it to end terribly as she tried to usurp Unicron after years of being together. One of the few times they worked together Primus and Unicron defeated her.
In time Daiakuron created another bot Weirrall, a scrapper similar to Unicron yet using the space rocks as his junk, coating himself in it. Then Daiakuron created four bots to help lead the eventual life of the universe, Adaptus, Epistemus, Mortilus, and Solomus.

However, tragedy struck the universe again, and in anger, Unicron struck Gaea down. She eventually became a half-sphere. In grief Atlas joined his wife coming together to make a full sphere, forever circling the cosmos together. Shunned by the rest of his siblings, Unicron's anger grew untamed and his hunger for worlds only grew stronger.
Their father, having long since disappeared, left Primus in charge. Primus created thirteen bots to help in the fight against Unicron. Prima, Vector Prime, Alpha Trion, Solus Prime, Micronus Prime, Alchemist Prime, Nexus Prime, Onyx Prime, Amalgamous Prime, Quintus Prime, Liege Maximo, Megatronus Prime, and The Thirteenth who later willingly became unnamed.
Unicron followed suit, creating bots of his own as well based upon visions he assumed ensured his glory. Logos Prime, Septimus Prime, and Nemesis Prime, who served as his heralds for finding worlds to eat.
Eventually, Unicron was defeated, using the last of his strength Primus trapped his brother in a ball shape after seeing what happened with Gaea. Sorrowed at the sight Primus, remembered the early days, soon Primus joined Unicron at his indefinite prison, turning into a metal sphere. The two brothers eventually drifted into a reluctant slumber, Unicron now trapped in the form slowly etched out his body and returned to his duties as a world eater, while Primus etched out his body for life. Making each of his primes give an aspect of their nature to these new inhabitants.
But something was missing and the thirteenth took the matrix from his chest and dropped it into the well of sparks before jumping in himself to ignite it
