I finished reading the fanfic "the herd of Durin" just today. I have a lot of thoughts about it. First of all, I've never read a fanfic like this before, I'd never been interested in reading an au so different from the original source material, but this one caught my attention. It's definitely going on my list of favorites. Although I'm a little worried about how much horse obscenity I consumed while reading this.

nvm, it was something new and fun. If you like Bagginshield on a level that goes a little beyond the norm like I do, you should give this fic a try.

Something that was not very clear to me was the shape of the centaurs, despite being described, I wasn't going to be satisfied until I put my perspective on the centaur pony race that is Bilbo into a drawing. So here it is, I hope you enjoy it!

The third and final of the artworks I made for the Tolkien Reverse Summer Bang!

As if it was any surprise, when I saw the suggestion for “Centaurs” in the @tolkienrsb ideas box, it crawled into my lap. I went a little bit nerdy and picked different species for dwarves and hobbits: dwarves should be mountain Ibex, since it’s practically canon, and hobbits should be tiny like the pygmy brocket deer! 

Bardcoyote wrote such a thrilling and adorable fic for these two, I think you guys should really read it!
