Ah, right! Well, I think that now with the tv show the book fandom is becoming more visible here on Tumblr, since there was practically nothing reblog-worthy before. If you start watching the show (or to get you more hooked), you should check out outlander-online! (although beware of spoilers!)

Hello! :) I noticed you like The Outlander series (which was quite surprise tbh) and I was just wondering do you think the show is worth watching? I really like the books so I don't wanna spoil them for me by watching poorly made show version

Hi!! Ooh, why was it a surprise? Yep, I love the books, though I’ve only made it to the fourth so far in order to re-read the first (also I’m not super interested in Roger and Bree, so...)

I think it is worth watching. I’m a book purist, I admit it: it’s hard for me to look past changes done in book to screen adaptations. And there are little changes done in the Outlander show that got me like, ‘Hm... this is better in the book’. BUT here’s the thing: unlike Harry Potter, for example, you understand why they made those changes (except for one that I don’t, lol), you understand that it’s for the sake of fitting everything important in the time they have, and you can see that even if it’s not like in the books, they still cared to make it as meaningful (I have a perfect example but I don’t want to spoil it for you). They’re not whimsical changes, that’s what I’m trying to say: they get the books, the characters, the relevance of some scenes.

Another thing that you’re probably wary of is the cast; I know I was! But it’s as good as you could wish for. Everyone so far is great for their role, and Jamie and Claire’s chemistry, their relationship, it’s so on point. It’s amazing. We couldn’t have asked for better actors to bring Jamie and Claire to life!

All in all, it’s not a poorly made show version, in my opinion. Worth to give it a shot! If you do, let me know what you think of it! ^-^
