I'm late to the 'here's my mhst3 team', but it's done at last! Ratha not included because he's just forced onto the team and I wanted them to be ones I picked. Not pictured is Quince, my espinas who was a big part of my team in the early/mid game.

Also, no shade to Rudy or anything, I just wanted to design my own palico. If I ever go into the mainline games, this will be my lil buddy. c:

I think what distinguishes supernatural/eldritch horror from cosmic horror is that the latter isn’t just big and old and from far away, its existence forces the protagonists to reevaluate what it means to be human.

Unicron from The Transformers: The Movie is eldritch but not cosmic, because even though he’s huge and from outer space, he’s a familiar archetype: a mix of Satan, Apep, and Ahriman.

By contrast, the extraterrestrials in Blindsight are somehow highly intelligent despite not being sentient, the powerful artifacts that alter our understanding of science in Roadside Picnic are worthless litter to the visitors that left them, and “At The Mountains of Madness” introduces the idea that humankind is the descendant of the mold that grew in some primordial race’s fridge, something Ringworld/Known Space, Xenogears, Crysis, etc. all play with.

Seaangle (oldest, she/her)

Likes wearing spikey jewlery, usually just goes by Angel, really confident, likes socializing and hanging out with others, shes the most well known royal child because of this. Will probably cover herself in peircings like Ceph did at some point. Protective/caring of her siblings.

Kelpie(middle, 1 year younger than Angel, they/them/any neos)

Certified creature. Likes their long and flowy jewlery. Grows little gardens of underwater plants around the deep palace. Doesn't like big parties or crowds, but a small group is just fine.

Tidepool (youngest, 3 years younger than Angel, she/they)

(No shes not part nightwing i just wanted to give her moons) (her name is actually moon related because of that)

Often goes by Tide. Wears colourful paints and makeup all the time. She doesnt do the same thing often but shell usually have something around her eyes and on her claws or talons. Passion for stargazing and astromony, spends a lot of nights on hills and cliffs on the coasts of the seakingdom (i would have said the summer palace... but...y'know.) Will often draw the starry skies she sees on scrolls and then paint murals of them throughout the kingdom

A lot of Kelpies gardens have Tides murals on the walls near them, they like hangout out and being artsy

Idk how much theyll show up cuz i dont really see mussel and ceph as parents, i more wanna focus on their relationship, but ofc they need heirs so theyd have kids eventaully. I think they would genuinely want kids i just dont really wanna write them as parents
