Pictures of my ceramic skull plates! Seeing them all together makes me so happy! I think I’ve gotten better at glazing them too.

I hope to sell them at Eurofurence in Berlin and the ones I can’t pack/won’t sell will go on Etsy later. :D Meanwhile, I’m already thinking of new plates...:>

“Is it Halloween yet?”

These adorable skullheads might be tiny, but they always ask the right questions. Or, rather, question – for it, in their opinion, is the only question worth the trouble. Halloween is the most important day for them, no wonder they keep asking about it every time they as much as glimpse something orange or pumpkin-shaped in their vicinity. They have to make sure and be prepared for the Halloween night, when dark and troubled spirits roam the Earth, unnoticed, unseen; making humans shiver and say things like ‘winter is coming’. But tiny skullheads are not afraid: they are ready to repel the spirits with their brave little hearts and the flames of the tealight candles burning inside them.

We are used to thinking of Halloween as a fun, happy holiday full of mischief and sweet treats and pumpkin spice lattes and spooky things made of rubber and plastic. So we celebrate away, well into the night, unaware of the dangers kept at bay by the brave little soldiers standing guard for the humankind, shining their lights into the dark. But they are perfectly okay with that. They’re happy as long as they get to do their job, shining away on every doorstep and windowsill on Halloween night, skullheads and pumpkinheads, keeping our homes safe since the dawn of time.

Ceramic Skull Bowl, inspired by my dog’s skull. One of the teeth broke off, but I managed to put it back on with lots of glaze, I will glue it some more later.

Can’t wait to eat soup out of this and eat cereal every day with my bone spoon! XD
