Flower Drying Process and Production

You might have many times heard about eternal flower today we are going to discuss some topic regarding this only.

Eternal flowers made off the stem of the recently cut flower are immediately submerged in a conversing substance which is made from glycerin and other plants components. This sap of flower is gradually replaced by the liquid until after a few days of the process is complete. Then each flower is examined to remove damaged petals or leaves.

Process of preserving flowers

Hang them upside down in a dark, dry, well-ventilated area and keep the flower out of direct sunlight because sunlight will help them to retain their color. The drying process will take 2-3 weeks and once dried, take down the flowers and spray with unscented hairspray for protection.

Dry flower more demand both in India and the international market it is exported in many countries. And Indian stands first for Dry flower export owing to the availability of a variety of plants. The dry flower doesn’t mean only flower parts but it also includes dried shoots, seeds, barks, etc.

Dry Flower production involves two techniques they are,

Drying – flower should be cut in the morning after the dew has evaporated from the plants. Once cut groups stem into a bunch using a rubber band and remove them from sunlight as soon as possible. After that includes the step such as,

·         Sun-drying which easy and cheap method

·         Freeze drying equipment is costlier, but the quality of the dried flower is very high and fetches a good price in the market.

·         Pressing either a blotting paper or ordinary paper are used

·         Glycerin method- Glycerin is filled after removing moisture from the flowers

·         Polyset Polymer- by spraying poly set polymer flower to get dried.

Dying procedure

·         Procion type color is best for dry flower

·         Take dye powder and mix with water

·         Dilute solution in hot water

·         Mix acetic acid

·         Flower and magnesium chloride to enhance the color

·         Soak the dried flowers until they absorb the color

It is the mixture of scented loose dry flowers kept in a polythene bag and normally kept in almyrahs, drawers, and bathrooms. More than 300types of plants were used in this method. Our main customer is in England. Framed dry flower pictures, greeting cards, covers, bouquets, candle stands, glass bowls are using different colored dry flower materials.

Making your own candles is so much fun and a great project to do with any big kiddos in your life! Everyone loved making homemade candles together for our holiday gifts—they were great for teachers, friends, party hosts, the mail carrier, you name it. Making candles is fun and enjoyable. You can even try making candles at home by these simple methods,

Ingredients

·         Beeswax pellets (or block)

·         Essential oils (optional, but recommended—I used Christmas Tree, Candy Cane, and Spiced Cider)

·         Tools

·         4-ounce glass jars or tins (or other similar containers)

·         Wicks + scissors (we used organic hemp, but cotton is another good choice)

·         Pencils or clothespins for holding the wicks in place

·         Wooden skewer (for stirring)

·         Dedicated candle-making pitcher (basically a metal pitcher you’ll only use for melting wax)

·         Pot to use as a double boiler (filled with a couple inches of water)

·         Electric heat source (in other words, not your gas stove—I bought a very inexpensive electric burner)

Optional

·         Gift tags/string + pen

·         Organic items to embed (such as plant clippings from your Christmas tree, herbs like lavender and rosemary, pieces from candy canes or other hard candies, coffee beans, seashells, etc. – optional)
