D&D need to stop using womanhood as a weapon against Cersei!!!!!!!  Why do they literally add that shit, for the pathos?  It’s so disrespectful to her. As if simply existing as a woman in her society doesn’t torture her enough?  D&D have taken away all of her graceless, ugly, angry actions and agency that women are basically never allowed to have in fiction (or in reality) and just beaten her over the head with her own gender and its functions and roles.  Such a shande fur die goyim these boys are

honestly BPD is such a weird diagnosis for cersei.  it was the trendy mental illness on tumblr for a while i suppose (don’t get mad at me, you KNOW this is true).  unlike aerys et al, i don’t think there’s really one diagnosis that fits her.  in some ways she gives me an ASPD vibe, but there’s no way of knowing how her mother’s death traumatized her and changed her, and what that triggered in her psychiatric functioning.  she’s also in the wrong society, to be sure, and having an asshole for a father isn’t helpful, but when you take cersei and put her in a modern AU where she does have more equality and can technically be more than just a ~pretty face~, if you’re keeping her true to her canon characterization she still has a lot of anger and does horrible things.  she also has some narcissism.  idk cersei is a mess and she’s my mess and i will always love her

@domericbolton i totally agree, especially since her environment is so at odds with her personality.  i especially feel this way regarding her sexuality and gender issues.  they’re so entwined with the expectations of a westerosi woman of her wealth and position.  when people say “CERSEI IS TRANS” i feel like that’s an oversimplification of what she says she feels.

i think it doesn’t help that the targs are much easier to give a modern diagnosis to.  i think grrm was trying to create some ~~crazy~~ family, and then he released WOIAF in the 21st century and bam most of them have bipolar disorder*
