So we’re in, as we thought. She’s coping surprisingly better than I thought she would, especially with the amount of people constantly around her. She hates the IVs themselves, they really make her panic to the point that she can’t catch her breath. I guess she gets a strange sensation in her arm when they’re going in and she can’t understand what is going on. We try to soothe her as much as we can, or distract her with toys, but it doesn’t really work. She was a diamond with the cannula, I’m so proud of her. They put plenty of numbing cream on which seemed to do the trick as she didn’t flinch once. It’s weird. It’s not easy, but it isn’t as heart wrenching as I thought it would be. I was so panicked and so upset before we went in but now not so much. I guess when we were told she was being admitted it just made everything so very, very real. I know we treat her CF daily, and we do what we can do keep her safe from germs, but honestly, until now I never really thought about the truly bad stuff... and this is just the beginning. I am so proud at how brave and resilient my Tiny Dot is.
