COLDFLASH WEEKEND IS HERE

Hello all, and welcome to the first Coldflash event of 2024!

Our first event of the year is a mini weekend event in which everyone can share fanworks based on a selection of prompts chosen by all of you!

Fan art, fanfiction, moodboards, playlists, gifsets, videos, edits... all contributions are welcome and we are so happy to have you :D

Author Notes: I'm a bit late but I finished it! This has been rolling around in my head for years, but I finally sat down and wrote it for @coldflashevents Mini Coldflash Weekend! I honestly don’t know which day this fills since it's got a bit of everything going on. In my head, this is an Alternate Earth/Timeline where Smallville was part of the Arrowverse and some of the major plot points from the shows had more time in between. I apologize in advance if they’re a bit ooc, it's been never. I hope you all enjoy my first coldflash fic. Happy Reading ♥️

A Long Time Coming

At first, Len’s thoughts were fragmented and his senses frayed. There was a bright light above him, he realized after trying to open his eyes. Slowly he registered a warm hand splayed across his solar plexus. He wanted to look, but after the first flash of white Len didn't dare open them again. 

“Hey… Hey, give it a bit… Don't move too much,” a voice called through cotton balls. “You were lost for a long time.”

The disembodied voice's advice was one Len planned on taking as he slowly tried to gather his mind before sorting out who was talking, where he was, and where he had just been. 

He shifted experimentally, discovering that he was lying on his back on top of a slightly cushioned bed. The slight weight of the hand on top of his sternum helped him steady his breath, something nagging at his mind at the weight of it. He groaned at the tightness in his chest as he took a deep inhale, smiling at the smell that wafted over him. 

Coffee with too much sugar and the bitter smell of electricity. 

It was a scent that had been painstakingly and lovingly burned into his memory, and it dragged an unsurprised snort from him. 

“Barry,” his lips twisted into a lopsided grin, eyes still closed, as the name was dragged out of him. 

Slowly Len regained the sense of his body, wiggling his fingers experimentally before wrapping his hand around the watch-covered wrist connected to the hand on his chest. 

“Lenny, god it's good to hear your voice.” 

Len frowned at the wet sound that crackled past the speedster's lips. His hand squeezed his wrist at the heartbreaking sound of Barry’s favorite nickname before his memory returned with a stunning force. He had been dead.

“What… what did you do, Barry?”

On an Earth where Barry Allen was an assassin hired by the Italian mob to eliminate Leonard Snart, he ended up falling in love with his target instead and hatched a plan to kidnap Leonard and fake his death.

(Dealer's choice on whether Len was also an assassin that the Santinis hired to take care of Barry and get rid of them both at once)
