Picture this. The tea party scene goes differently, Jinx regresses and Vi whisks her away. One thing leads to another and Vi and Caitlyn become Jinx’s caregivers.
But then they break up or decide to take a break, for whatever reason, but Caitlyn wants Vi and Jinx to remain in the mansion with her. She’s an only child and has gotten attached to the life they bring to the mansion.
The issue is that when Junior Officer Maddie Nolen starts flirting with Caitlyn, both Jinx and Vi are there to witness it.
Vi doesn’t care. She’s confident in both herself and her relationship with Caitlyn, and knows they’ll get back together eventually. Caitlyn isn’t even flirting back. But Jinx? Jinx is not happy about this new development. That’s her Sister-in-Law. That’s her Mommy. And now Maddie is ruining her perfect little family.
Que a Little Jinx pulling out all the stops to get rid of Maddie. She begs Vi for them to go have lunch with Caitlyn when she’s at the station, scribbles on the notes Maddie leaves for Cait, and scrambles to sit as close as possible if Maddie is around.
She starts whining and asking to sleep in Cait’s room but drags Vi along too because that’s the right way to her. Vi realizes pretty early on what’s happening, but doesn’t say anything. Caitlyn is none the wiser.
Little Jinx clambers up on Cait’s lap and glares at Maddie when she interrupts lunch in Cait’s office one day. Maddie tries to ignore it but she’s terrified. Not only is Jinx glaring at her, but Vi is eyeing her to make sure she doesn’t try to say anything about Jinx, and Caitlyn is behaving like everything is fine.
Anyways, Vi and Cait get back together within a few weeks after Vi finally tells Caitlyn why Jinx has been more clingy than usual and why Maddie is steering clear.
