Government Employee Murdered For Not Knowing How To Do His Job
New Delhi: A Sweeper at the Central Government Offices Complex was murdered late yesterday evening by his officer in charge. The murder, sources tell us, was professionally motivated.
This was the fourth such instance in as many months, of a government employee being hacked to death by a co-worker. The spate of murders has seen Government employee's attendance rise to levels not seen since the emergency of '81.
Rajendar Gautam, an avid cricket fan, had been working in the Ministry of Home Affairs for 20 years before his untimely death. He was known to make annual appearances to give the cursory glance at the toilets and kitchens he was assigned. His assailant Shankar Chhar was apprehended on the premises, few feet from the body, having Lemon Tea in his cabin.
"I asked him to clean it so many times but he would joke about it and shrug it off. I had been practicing Gadhigiri for sometime because my written complaints were not being take seriously." he told us between sips of his tea, "I would rush to scrub the toilets when he was in sight and thank him for his efforts in keeping the office tidy whenever I met him but he never seemed to be feel ashamed. It was more than I could take. Utterly frustrated, today I handed him a bucket so that he would not misunderstand. He looked scandalized. He said 'I don't know how to clean toilets, I wouldn't know where to begin'. And that's when I bashed his head into the urinal."
Chhar's cabin was situated opposite the NGO toilet and he said he had tried all official means possible to arrange for regular sanitation. Also, He said he found the level of incompetence showed by Gautam inexcusable and parasitic.
"Even my tea got cold because of this excitement."
