another great chapter by odaaa, although most of it was momo being too scared to open his eyes and fly

WE DID GET SOME MORE BREADCRUMBS REGARDING YAMATOS PAST

I feel so bad for Yamato, Kaido really needs to get his ass and also ACE 😭😭😭 i miss him so much,

AND WE GOT A JOINT ATTACK FROM YAMATO AND LUFFY HELLO FUTURE STRAWHAT YAMATO

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY AS YOU CAN SEE IN HIS ARM ^^ LUFFY WENT SNAKE MAN IMMEDIATELY SO WE'RE STARTING OFF NEXT CHAPTER IN SNAKE MAN FORM WHICH WE ALL KNOW IS THE BEST FORM I CAN'T WAIT

and i was so caught up in looking at momo I didn't even see this COLD ASS HELL LUFFY ENTRANCE LOOK AT HIM LOOK AT HIM

also, at the last page oda writes "Dragon Clash" so are we to expect Momo to actually do something up against Kaido because that would be awesome, he seems to still be afraid

Chapter 1025 — Twin dragons*

Nice little chapter.

Oda’s callbacks to earlier chapters and moments never cease to amuse me. We have the beautiful first shot of Adult-Dragon-Momo in chapter 1023…

Look at those coils! Look at that juxtaposition between enormous, light-coloured dragon and tiny, shadowed man! Look at that reverence in the face of the Pirate King!

And then…

…we learn that it’s all due to Momo’s fear of heights.

Judging Luffy? Wondering about Momo’s abilities? Hopefully Oda will give us more insight into the Hearts at some point, although I doubt it.

Looking forward to learn more about this weird cracking thing!

In a way, I agree with Kaido. A lot of Yamato’s loneliness has probably stemmed from how others view them, not from some internal quality that makes them unloveable. A lot, however, is due to Kaido, you know, killing them if they show the merest scrap of kindness to a neglected child.

But Yamato, rightfully so, rejects it and once again reiterates the idea that comes up again and again in One Piece: that your blood has nothing at all to do with who you are as a person or your worth. Sure, they might be Kaido’s offspring, but that doesn’t matter at all in determining what they should do tomorrow.

Mad respect to Yama-o for standing up against that their whole life.

I’m sure a lot happened that will be shown latter, for example the effect of Momo’s rampage in disturbing Hawkins and Killer’s fight (Kid is still standing so Killer must have figured something out) or that whatever Denjiro has been doing being exposed by a torn-down wall. Or CP0. You know, the usual.

I give the chapter a fear of heights and the guts to stick it out anyway.
