What did "Hikaru" do to deserve all that? :/
Months ago when I read Gideon I predicted that she was a half lyctor or something. I think I’m about to be right or at least somewhat right. Going to have to find that prediction post.
You know what? Respect to Ichigo for being like, "I don't know enough about the Thing to talk about the Thing, so I won't say anything about the Thing itself." It IS interesting that Uryuu's beef isn't with the Thing, though!
No, no--as it turns out, Uryuu's beef is over a Different Thing.
Aww, look at baby Uryuu! And I really like this take by his sensei.
Oh, you sweet bean. Just you wait, you'll be singing a different tune soon enough.
I gotta admit, I am maybe not the best person to talk about who's right or wrong here. Either way it shakes out, either the Quincy are responding first and wiping souls out of the cycle, or the Shinigami are late to respond and people get hurt.
Ooh--I can't help wondering. Did the shinigami show up late on purpose, out of spite? Or did spite not have a factor in it, and they genuinely were just late thanks to the system they run on? Either way, I feel like there was a way this could have ended without sensei's death.
So there we are. Uryuu's beef is more personal--he's got a point to make.
Oh. That's, uh, one way of taking out a Hollow, I guess?
And here I thought for a sec that Ichigo just wasn't listening. He's just like me fr! Turns out he filtered out all the filler and cut to what matters:
Wait, that's a nice thought, but isn't Uryuu still destroying souls and unbalancing the cycle...?
Very fun chapter of Ruri Dragon.
This is delightful, nice find!
I really like their dynamic, and that ending!
