one of the funniest things bk moon ever did was make you believe lloyd was Gone™ by having javier be all wistful and yearning about his old master convincing you that this is an old heartbreak that never healed right and that he's still mourning him centuries later. only to then reveal that not only is lloyd alive and perfectly okay he's literally one phone call away. javier can literally just pick up the phone and have a direct line with him any time he wants. he's just being dramatic about not being at his side 24/7 like he used to. it's so fucking funny asjkhksfjs

Chapter 1023 — Two peas in a pod

But over to the most interesting part of the chapter (except for all the ‘these people are really really similar’-references)!

Information about King’s race! Or the moon people! Or someone called ‘God’! Who knows!

Is the giant Straw Hat at Mary Geoise God’s hat? King is huge — was the ancient race of lunarians also giant? Are they related to the giants? So many questions!

Reunion!

I like Izou.

And more info about the moon people! What does King know? Does Queen refer to the Minks who could be related to them with their sulong? Very exciting!

Edit: And look at that perspective! Zoro looks as tiny as King’s foot. Oda’s mastery with the art of drawing never ceases to amaze.

And more hints about Zoro’s past! This might be a slight retcon, but Ryuma does have bandages over one eye, as seen in chapter 467….

More sulong! And a callback to Zoro’s punching holes in buildings.

The attention to detail is great, as usual, with both Carrot and Wanda’s faces being cast in shadow here, negating the moonlight and thus not having them go into sulong.

Fukurokuju’s ears are great, by the way.

And Momo! Peas in a pod with… his old man, I’d wager.

So Vegapunk did manage to clone Kaido’s fruit, not just learn the secrets of Devil Fruits. Does this mean there could be multiple magma brats or rubber boys or electro lasses?

Very good chapter, I give it three stars and a crescent moon.

Ryuuma’s got the kanji for ‘dragon’ (龍) on his sleeve, which in addition to being cool as fuck, is also probably part of his name’s kanji spelling, given that that kanji is most often read as ryuu.
