Ash hasn't been down here in a long while to be honest, perhaps there just hasn't been a need to for either of them. He used to come down here all the time bothering Mal whenever he needed a brain to bounce ideas with, arguing with no sense of time without any daylight in the office. Feeling more like a person again, he mustered himself to eat something that morning from the diner and Mal caught him to ask him to their office. "What's all this about?" Ash asked once they were out to the stairwell, following them down to the basement. His movements were slower than before, knowing exactly the things that aggravate his shoulder further and took his time compared to Mal's eagerness down the steps. "Tell me you managed to fix something," he joked to fill the time between him getting to where they were in front of their office door.
