"You look... unwell,” Ruth couldn’t help the distaste in her voice--sure, she was the Doctor, but for the most part she couldn’t bother to help those who were sick--the Division had trained her they were a waste of time--but she reached out a steadying hand towards the other.

“Tell me, blondie,” Ruth held a photograph in one hand---an ancient photograph, its corners torn, the colors faded, the subjects: an older woman, her skin white, her hair ashen, and a child, one Ruth couldn’t recognize, their eyes filled with worry and the corners of their mouth downturned. “Do you remember this?”

“Sorry, mate. Don’t care what it says on the outside, the phone doesn’t work,” perhaps she should have fixed the perception filter, allowing the TARDIS to take on some other form than her usual police box, but generally the old blue wood sufficed to keep strangers away.

If the Doctor was known for anything, it was their ridiculous fashion sense---and this incarnation was no exception, with round yellow lenses supported by thin metal frames and a splash of color which poked out from the collar of her navy blue coat. She attracted attention to herself like moths to a flame, and the gentleman before her seemed particularly interested.
“Sorry, mate--I dunno anyone by that name.”
“Sorry, love. Can’t help you,” Ruth dismissed the request with a firm shake of her head, not bothering to glance back as she headed towards her TARDIS. “I don’t interfere in human affairs.”
