Victoria was raised under the Kensington system, a stiff set of rules and protocols, devised by her mother (the Duchess of Kent) and their comptroller, John Conroy. Conroy was also thought to be the duchess's secret lover.
They weren't just cousins but first cousins, still a common practice back then, particularly for royalty.
I didn't know she wasn't fond of Mozart's music, but I'm not surprised if this is historically accurate. I didn't watch the Victoria series, but Yana-san apparently did. Some in the fandom have commented that she references heavily from the show.
She was truly smitten with her cousin Albert. However, she proposed because the monarch has to propose marriage, not be proposed to.
Aside from the history lesson and the tale she's telling, it's interesting to note that she's not seen even once smoking the cigar. The ashes just build up as it burns. She's so into her story that Sebastian has to get our earl's head out of the way to keep him from getting ashes all over and/or getting burned.
I think it's very important to note that Victoria is looking as much at John Brown here as at that Prince Albert puppet when she says "He was my angel." It's only just then that the puppet finally makes its appearance, too.
The bride wearing white to the wedding wasn't popular until Queen Victoria did it. The trend started with her but soon became a tradition. The couple was so popular that they ended up setting several trends that quickly became traditions.
Stealing stuff usually falls under Nami’s purview, but I think this is another instance of Oda showing off Robin’s skillset before launching off to Skypiea, as well as showing her to being a little more of a forward thinker than the rest of the crew
It’s also a sort of crew bonding moment with Nami. It might be a little ways off, but Water 7/Enies Lobby is the next major arc after Skypiea. It is absolutely imperative that Oda show Robin connecting and integrating with the rest of the crew now or the emotional hook of the next arc simply doesn’t work.
