Brook having no idea who Roger is is hilarious. He really has no idea what the One Piece is or Luffy's ultimate goal. He's just here for the vibes, and I love that for him.

I believe this is the first time we see Roger's eyes. I think it's important that he ends up looking relatively normal, and that it's revealed not in the big epic moment of him starting the Pirate Age, but talking to his first mate one last time
It's very funny to me that Shanks and Luffy both don't see the point in talking about their pasts and all the famous people they know/are related to
These chapters do a great job of turning the myth of Roger on its head. After all we've seen of the Government's lies it's funny how everyone--reader included--has a tendency to believe the official story of the Pirate King. No one, in-universe or out, is immune from propaganda
Robin's the only one who's not surprised, because of course she recognized him, but she's got to stop assuming that the rest of the crew knows who anybody is
Roger was in his 50s when he died, and his last voyage alone took him about three years presumably without any gaps like the Straw Hats had, which puts Luffy's blitzing of the Grand Line into hilarious perspective.
Out of everything Rayleigh says in this monologue, this little aside is the part that's stuck with me over the years. It's just a very human reaction, and Oda once again pulls away so we don't get a good look at Rayleigh's face. It's like an extra bit of privacy when talking about such personal feelings.
And of course Luffy's over there raiding the fridge
