if i had a dollar every time jisung played a character who is morally ambiguous, a genius in their certain field of profession, severely misunderstood, went to prison and named yohan, i would have two dollars which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
CHA YOHAN (Doctor John): INTP
Introverted Thinking (Ti): INTPs dominant function is their Ti, which allows them to think logically and objectively. Their goal is to be accurate while solving problems. Cha Yohan is shown constantly striving for the correct answer. Like an INTP, he is thorough in his research and analysis, always aiming to be absolutely accurate. He will spend hours of his life thinking and theorizing until he comes up with the answer, even going so far as to neglect not only his needs, but his staffs as well. INTPs seek to understand, which applies to Cha Yohan’s years of studying medicine just to understand what pain is like.
Extraverted Intuition (Ne): Cha Yohan is a brainstormer. Drawing on boards, rambling through meetings, he is always processing out loud. INTPs are known to do this as well. To others, their ideas may seem confusing or wrong even if it actually is logical; the reason most people feel this way is because INTPs tend to hop from one subject to another, looking for underlying patterns or ideas. The reason INTPs are so thorough is because they want the end result to be perfect.
Introverted Sensing (Si): This function helps INTPs remember the information that they have learned. It allows their thoughts to be more structured and put together. Cha Yohan is excellent at diagonising a patient in little time, all thanks to his Si keeping all of the knowledge he has collected. Their assurance that what they believe is absolutely right may come off as arrogant to other people. In Doctor John, Cha Yohan’s confidence in himself caused controversy several times.
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): This trait is the least developed function and is not typically used in their thought process. INTPs use this function when needed; otherwise, it is stored away. Throughout the drama, we see Cha Yohan use his Fe with his patients. This is his earnest desire to help other people by using his genius to solve their medical mysteries. This function strengthens in the drama thanks to Siyoung’s constant pushing of Yohan to open up and allow someone to help him.
