i emerge from my cave to (1) say hello, i hope you, mr blake and dog blake have been keeping as well as possible during the End Times, and (2) gush about the atlas six, which i have SHAMEFULLY only gotten down to finishing yesterday. for the sake of brevity i will keep it short, but reading it was truly something special. you are doing amazing, olivie!!!

hello! i got a new marble HM betta last friday (about 4 days ago from today) and have been quarantining him in a small 1gal tank before letting him go in his big tank. i change the water every day, and the parameters are all good, but he hasn't eaten anything since i brought him home - tried flakes, pellets, freeze dried bloodworms (he chewed it and then spat it out) - and swims a little jerkily from time to time. is he just getting used to being in a new place? or should i treat for illness?

I don’t recommend treating for illness unless you see other signs. He may not be eating because of stress and even the jerky motions can be stress-related, too. I find large-finned bettas swim a bit more jerkily sometimes in general because of the extra weight they have to lug around.

But definitely keep an eye on it. For instance, if it looks like he’s rubbing/jerking against plants or decorations, there may be something going on.

i love love love the excerpt of the book that's currently being queried!!! first sections about whether it's possible to love a brain that doesn't love its owner really hit home for me, so thank you for that - i hope everything goes well with that manuscript! and that your bug bite situation recovers quickly and Without Incident 💓💓💓

anyway, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I am so attached to this book which of course makes me extra sensitive about it so naturally I am Blissfully Overwhelmed at hearing you like it. regan is one of my favorite female leads; as much as she is intentionally ‘unlikable,’ she is also extremely, uncomfortably real. she is what so many of us dislike about ourselves, flaws and all, and if I do get the chance to publish it, I will be extremely, devastatingly proud of having brought her to life

olivie!! i am Back Once Again having finally(!!) graduated and finally(!!) having the brain space to get back to LTV, TCG, Paradox, and eventually One for My Enemy, all of which i am very excited to finish c: my olivie-week begins TODAAAAAY and i am thusly ready for much Emotional Turmoil and Excellent Writing. this isn't really a question or anything, but i guess i just wanted to pop in to say hello and that i hope you have a great week ahead!!

i am Back Once Again (i feel like this has happened multiple times this year......) after having moved countries (first job!! it has been harrowing) and essentially having no internet for a month!!! i hope you've been well c: just swinging by to tell you that (1) your stories have been great company in the Great Internet Desert, and that (2) i'm currently re-reading Paradox and TCG because they are DELIGHTFUL and i am AGHAST at how much joy they bring me. that is all, have a great week ahead!!!
