Angel in need ~ Chaerin x Jieun
It wasn't often Jieun took the time to exercise her wings in the areas outside of the academy but when she did she enjoyed the feeling of unbridled air. Around the school she tried to remain as anonymous as could be when it came to her race, no need to raise the flag on what she was nor what color the wings she bore were. Too many people had a strange fascination with the dark feathers. In the land outside of the academy she could fly freely without the watching eyes that so bothered or, or so she had thought.
She'd been flying for hours when she finally touched down at the edge of a stream in the mountains to their normal invisible state. and allowed her wings to fold back . Dark locks hung messily around her shoulder as she perched by the edge of the water and dipped her hands into the cool flow bringing a cupped palm to her lips to drink from it. Nature untouched by human hands was such a lovely thing. After a few minutes of resting Jieun rose to her feet again and stretching her arms over her head she was prepared to fly again when disaster struck.
Whispers. She could hear them all around her in a language that she hadn't heard nor spoke in ever so long. Despite the lack of language she could still understand it, the divine tongue of the angels. Biting her lip she turned to flee through the tree's but it was already too late. "Hello dear Rogziel." Turning slowly in her place she ran a hand through her hair as she offered a smile to the man and his small liege of angels. "I never thought I'd see you out here, my how many centuries has it been since I've seen you last?" She had known since breaking into Heaven this day would come, the day a battalion would be sent to fetch her to the angelic court, but she had thought herself clever enough to outsmart them; apparently she was not. Rather than return her greeting Rogziel unrolled a scroll of parchment paper and in the commanding voice she had followed so many years ago he began to read in detail all of the wrongs she had committed against the holy city.
"Breaking past the gates, breaking and entering the holy chambers, contaminating the locks with the blood of unholy creatures and finally the sins of murder."
"It was him or me Rogziel," no longer did her lips respond in Korean, the divine language rolled from her tongue with the ease of of a native speaker. "And wasn't it you who taught us to never waver in a fight?"
"What I didn't teach you were the sins of man and how to commit them in the purity of our city. You learned that on your own, Enepsigos**." Her words ad angered him enough to respond, and as when called her by a name given to her when she was cast from the skies the smile Jieun had worn gave way to a sneer.
"Enepsigos**? That is not and never will be my name you dimwitted fool. You and your council had no right to take everything from me especially not my name. And then to give me such a dirty title? You can take your name of Enepsigos** to hell where it belongs!" The angels behind him tensed, their hands going to the swords and for the first time her eyes fell upon the men at his aid.
So they thought her weak enough to bring young angels? Or perhaps in her time away from her heavenly home they had come to think themselves strong enough that even their young ones would have the power to overcome her. Regardless of what their reasoning was, they had made an extremely stupid choice one for which they would pay. She could hear Rogziel rambling about her wrongdoings and still her eyes traced over the army of fifteen that he had bought, if they could be called and army. Fresh faced boys, so young their wings had barely rid themselves of their downy fluff. All she needed was one angel who wasn't of complete sound mind, every group had at least one and as her eyes passed over one face in the back of the group she knew he was the one. "So you're to take me back no matter what?" She asked in a voice riddled with amusement as a smile creeped upon her lips. The angel boy was staring right at her and when he realized she was staring back him he tried to glance away. Yes boy that's right don't look away from my eyes, then again you can't now can you? Don't worry, I don't plan to harm you but you will help me.
Manipulation wasn't one of her stronger powers and yet by the expression of terror that arose in his eyes she knew that his mind was just weak enough for her to take over his every thought. It was almost a shame how easy it was, how young he was, the terror he felt over her, the monster. You stop that, I am not a monster, I was every bit as much of an angel as you were when I was your age. The reason I'm like this is because of people with thoughts like yours. A monster, HA! You've been no where, and seen nothing what do you even know? His thoughts were screaming for mercy, for her to let him be, for forgiveness but no one had forgiven her when she had done the same, and she wouldn't be placed in that situation ever again even if she had to use such a fetal feathered child to get away. It never ceased to amaze her how commanding angels could go on and on about laws, well today would be the day he'd regret such a long winded speech.
Raise your arm child, ah ah ah, those lips stay sealed shut. Yes good. The angel fledgling was slowly drawing the dagger from one holster and the sword from his scabbard by her steady gaze. Though he prayed against her in his mind such prayers would do nothing to aid him now. Now slowly, raise that dagger and throw it.. She was faced with resistance. Brown eyes hardened as she glared at him. I said THROW IT! The blade whistled through the air as the male through it aiming straight for the chest of his commander. As swiftly as the man fell to his knees, the blade extending through his chest, the boy was pitching Jieun his sword. In one hand the angel caught the blade and turning on her heels she took off running as her wings exploded from her back carrying her into the sky. It was a race against time, they were on her heels and she wouldn't have such a break again.
She flew through the tree's with unparalleled speed knowing the patterns like the back of her hands. She wouldn't have thought memorizing such things would have helped her and yet she could hear the angels behind her getting caught by the branches and vines. She wouldn't have the cover of woods much longer and that was where she would run into trouble. If she could get to a place where she had hidden her weapons she'd have a better chance. Dropping to the floor of the forest Jieun quickly spun in a circle and finding no angels she closed her eyes. There was a shack in further down the mountain at the edge of a clearing, she'd hidden countless things in there since finding it. Calming her mind the angels wings tensed as an arrow whizzed past her cheek, they'd found her but it was too late. As another arrow came at her Jieun teleported herself away from the area and stumbled across the floor in the shack. She'd made it!
Black wings retracted and she ran to the wall at the back of the house quickly peeling the wood apart. "There you are!" It would have been stupid to hide weapons in plain view, but in the wall she knew no one would think to look there. Out came her sword, a few throwing knives, a second sword and a quiver of arrows and a bow. As she began attaching the weapons to herself the creek of the door caught her attention and unsheathing her sword she turned around.
"Chae? What the hell are you doing here? Look I can't explain but you need to run!"
