The hallway echoed with laughter—the kind that wasn't meant to be friendly.
"Seriously Chaeyoung," Mingyu snorted, his armor gleaming in the torchlight. "look at yourself, you look like a child playing dress-up."
Chaeyoung kept her eyes forward, her smaller frame dwarfed by the other knights flanking her. Jeongyeon smirked, while Mina at least had the decency to look away. The armor hung awkwardly on Chaeyoung's slight shoulders, still too big despite the adjustments. She didn't care. Every coin went home to her family at the docks. That was all that mattered.
"Do you even know which end of the sword to hold?" Mingyu continued.
Then they heard it—a sound that made them all freeze.
Crying. Soft, muffled, but unmistakably coming from the princess's chambers.
"Don't even think about it," Jeongyeon hissed, grabbing for Chaeyoung's arm. But she was already moving toward the ornate door, her hand reaching for the handle.
"Are you insane?" Mingyu's eyes went wide. "That's the princess—"
Chaeyoung pushed the door open.
The other knights scattered like startled birds, their footsteps thundering down the corridor. Chaeyoung stepped inside, letting the door close behind her with a soft click.
Princess Tzuyu sat on the edge of her canopy bed, surrounded by a kingdom of greenery. Vines crawled up the posts, potted flowers lined every surface, hanging plants cascaded from the ceiling. It was like stepping into an enchanted forest. And in the center of it all was Tzuyu—breathtaking even with tears staining her porcelain cheeks, her long brown hair falling like silk over her shoulders.
She looked up, eyes widening. "Who—"
"I heard you crying," Chaeyoung said simply, then immediately felt stupid. Obviously she'd been crying.
Tzuyu's expression shifted from shock to something sharper. "And you just... walked in? Do you know what they do to knights who enter the princess's chambers uninvited?"
"Um." Chaeyoung shifted her weight. "Probably nothing good?"
Despite herself, Tzuyu's lips twitched. She wiped at her eyes with the back of her hand, a gesture so unguarded it made her seem almost human. "You're either very brave or very foolish."
"My friends usually say foolish."
"They ran away and left you."
"Then definitely foolish." Chaeyoung took a tentative step closer. "Are you... okay?"
Tzuyu laughed, but it was bitter. "My father had a new garden planted. Rare flowers from across the kingdom. And I'm forbidden from seeing them." She gestured to the plants surrounding them. "He knows how much I love them, how I've filled my room with every bloom I could find. But these new ones? Too dangerous for the princess, apparently."
"Dangerous flowers?"
"That's what makes them beautiful." Tzuyu's eyes gleamed. "He caught me trying to sneak in yesterday. Now I'm trapped here like one of my potted plants."
Chaeyoung looked at the door, then back at Tzuyu. At the longing in her face, the way her fingers traced the petals of a nearby rose. Something reckless stirred in her chest.
"What if you snuck out again?"
Tzuyu blinked. "I just told you I'm forbidden—"
"With me. Tonight." Chaeyoung straightened, trying to look more confident than she felt. "I'm a knight. Technically, I'm supposed to patrol the grounds. If anyone asks, you were under my protection."
"That's the worst excuse I've ever heard."
"Probably. But it might work."
For a long moment, Tzuyu just stared at her. Then, slowly, a smile curved her lips—dangerous and lovely. "You really are foolish, aren't you?"
"Is that a yes?"
"Midnight. The east entrance."
The moon hung heavy and full as Chaeyoung waited in the shadows, her heart hammering against her breastplate. She was about to give up when Tzuyu appeared like something from a dream, wrapped in a dark cloak that somehow made her look even more ethereal.
"I can't believe I'm doing this," Tzuyu whispered, but her eyes sparkled with excitement.
"We can still turn back—"
"Don't you dare." Tzuyu grabbed her gauntleted hand. "Lead the way, brave knight."
They slipped through the gardens like ghosts, Tzuyu's fingers warm even through the metal. The new section was at the far end, behind a locked gate that Chaeyoung managed to pick open with her dagger.
"That’s Impressive," Tzuyu murmured.
"My brother taught me. For when we got locked out of the house… well.. when i locked us out."
Beyond the gate, the garden opened into something otherworldly. Flowers Chaeyoung had never seen before bloomed in the moonlight—deep purples and blues that seemed to glow, petals like velvet, releasing a sweet, heady fragrance into the night air.
"Oh," Tzuyu breathed, and the pure wonder in her voice made Chaeyoung's chest tight.
They wandered deeper, Tzuyu running her fingers over every bloom, her face transformed with joy. She plucked a few, turning to Chaeyoung with a playful smile.
"Stay still."
"What are you—"
Tzuyu began tucking flowers into the gaps of Chaeyoung's armor, weaving them through the straps, pressing them against the cold metal. Her fingers lingered, warm and deliberate.
"There," she said softly. "Now you look like a proper garden knight."
Chaeyoung's mouth had gone dry. "I look ridiculous."
"You look..." Tzuyu's eyes met hers, something shifting in their depths. "Beautiful."
The air between them felt thick, charged. Chaeyoung became aware of how close they were standing, how the flowers' perfume seemed to wrap around them like a spell. Her skin felt too hot beneath the armor.
"Princess, I—"
"Tzuyu," she corrected, taking another step closer. "Here, I'm just Tzuyu."
"Tzuyu." The name felt dangerous on Chaeyoung's tongue. "I think... I think we should—"
But Tzuyu's hand was on her chestplate now, fingers tracing the edge of the metal. "Should what?" Her voice had dropped, turned into something that made Chaeyoung's knees weak. "Go back?"
"I..." Chaeyoung's thoughts scattered as Tzuyu pressed closer, her breath warm against Chaeyoung's neck.
"I feel strange," Tzuyu whispered, but she didn't move away. Instead, she pressed closer still, her body seeking contact even through the armor. "Like I'm burning up."
Chaeyoung's hands moved on their own, finding Tzuyu's waist. "Me too. The flowers—"
"I don't care about the flowers." Tzuyu's eyes were dark, pupils blown wide. Her hand slid up to cup Chaeyoung's face, and her touch was electric. "Kiss me."
"I could lose my position," Chaeyoung managed, but her voice was wrecked. "If anyone finds out—"
"Then we'll have to be very, very quiet." Tzuyu's smile was wicked. "Can you do that, knight?"
Before Chaeyoung could answer, Tzuyu closed the distance between them, and suddenly nothing else mattered. Not the armor digging into her skin, not the dangerous flowers surrounding them, not the risk of discovery. Just Tzuyu's mouth on hers, soft and demanding, tasting of moonlight and forbidden things.
When they finally broke apart, both breathing hard, Tzuyu's fingers were already working at the clasps of Chaeyoung's armor with surprising skill.
"Fuck..here?" Chaeyoung's voice came out strangled. "In the garden?"
"Scared?" Tzuyu's eyes glittered with challenge as she pushed the breastplate aside.
"Terrified."
"Good." Tzuyu's hands slid beneath the padding, finding warm skin, and Chaeyoung gasped. "I like you terrified."
They sank into the flowers together, and Chaeyoung learned that princesses could be soft and commanding all at once, that she could be undone by nothing but whispered orders and gentle cruelty. Tzuyu guided her with words that made her blush and hands that made her tremble.
"There," Tzuyu breathed, her back arching as Chaeyoung's trembling fingers found their mark. "Just like that—don't stop—"
"Someone could hear—"
"Let them." But Tzuyu's voice was rising, reckless with pleasure, and Chaeyoung panicked, fumbling for her helmet.
"Bite down," she gasped, pressing the metal rim to Tzuyu's mouth.
The princess's teeth clicked against steel, muffling her cries as Chaeyoung worked her higher, hands shaking, overwhelmed by the power and vulnerability of having Tzuyu falling apart beneath her touch.
When Tzuyu finally shuddered and stilled, she released the helmet with a breathless laugh. "My turn."
"Wait, I don't—oh—"
But Tzuyu was already flipping their positions with surprising strength, pinning Chaeyoung against the flower-strewn ground. "You're so sweet when you're desperate," she purred, and proceeded to prove that princesses could be devastatingly thorough when they wanted something.
Chaeyoung lost count of how many times Tzuyu made her cum—with her fingers, with her mouth, with the press of her thigh, with combinations that made Chaeyoung's vision white out. Each time she thought she had nothing left to give, Tzuyu coaxed another climax from her body.
"Please," Chaeyoung finally whimpered, "I can't—"
"One more, baby.. I know you can, you’ve been such a good girl" Tzuyu whispered against her ear, fingers and tongue working in and out of her hole, and Chaeyoung shattered again, biting down on her own gauntlet to keep from screaming.
They lay tangled together afterward, surrounded by crushed flowers, both spent and gasping. Tzuyu's head rested on Chaeyoung's shoulder, her cloak draped over them both.
"The flowers," Chaeyoung managed eventually. "They were..."
"Aphrodisiacs," Tzuyu finished, sounding entirely too pleased. "I might have suspected."
"You suspected?"
"I had a theory." Tzuyu pressed a kiss to her jaw. "Thank you for helping me test it."
Chaeyoung should have been angry. Should have been horrified. Instead, she found herself laughing, the sound startled out of her. "You're dangerous."
"I did warn you." Tzuyu propped herself up on one elbow, looking down at Chaeyoung with that divine face, now soft with satisfaction. "So, brave knight. Was it worth the risk?"
Chaeyoung reached up, tucking a flower back into Tzuyu's mussed hair. "Ask me when I haven't been sentenced to execution."
"If they try to execute you, I'll just have to keep you." Tzuyu's smile was pure mischief. "Every princess needs a personal knight, after all."
"I'm the worst knight in the castle."
"You're my favorite." Tzuyu kissed her again, slower this time, sweet and promising. "And tomorrow night, you're going to sneak me out again."
"That's a terrible idea."
"Then it's perfect for you." Tzuyu stood, extending a hand. "Come on, foolish knight. We should get back before anyone notices the princess has corrupted you completely."
Chaeyoung took her hand, letting herself be pulled to her feet. As they made their way back through the garden, armor clinking softly, flowers still woven through the metal, she realized she was smiling.
Maybe being foolish wasn't so bad after all.
