Stefan [trying to cheer Madeline up]: You’re kind, you’re smart, and you’re important.
Chagall [pushing Stefan out of the way]: No, no, no. Forget that. You are hot, you are scary, and you're not going to let anyone fuck with you today!
Taurean being in For the Gaze makes my brain go crazy thinking about how long Viola had been thinking about offering the potion to Madeline and the concept of her sending Chagall out on side quests to scout potential immortals In my mind he was also an editor who rejected one of post-Tell Me Ernest, pre-potion Helen's manuscripts, and also an orderly in the "health spa" who never worked with Helen directly but she knew she recognized from somewhere anytime she saw him (basically he was put in charge of gaslighting Helen lol).
Chagall going on side quests is so funny of a concept to me lmaooo
Like he goes back to Viola’s Mansion just for Viola to tell him that he needs to do a recon-mission for some new person that she wants to turn.
I’d have to go back but I believe that Chagall even appears in ‘That was then, this is now’ as someone that bumps into Helen when she’s doing her number.
Plus he’s also the one that delivers the hatchet and invitation for Helen’s book launch to Madeline’s Mansion.
He truly is an ever present presence that haunts from the shadows, an observer and a judge. Viola is an unnerving presence that is always there reminding the Zombie Wives of how they fucked up.
