Avery’s Chai High (Picked up at Total Wine). A 3 of 4. The nose is huge and has some incredible depth -- tons of spice notes and lots of holiday qualities. Some dark sugar candy like notes in the body and quite a bit more spice. Relatively thin, and finishes dry. Smells great, but the body is a bit lacking in heft -- some malt sweetness would do this well.

Finally, a brown ale I can get behind!  I usually find brown ales to have a dirty, nutty taste that puts me off, but the spicy notes of local Bhakti chai wonderfully balanced out the flavor.  It smelled heavenly, with clove and cinnamon, and had the gentle, lingering spiciness of good chai.  Delicious!
