As said before, Ailani is a very petty soul and when she learned just what Genta’s talent entailed, she became even pettier. How could this man who didn’t even want talent sell his book and get a SHSL? This rubbed salt into an old wound and immediately made her envious of Genta, but he seemed like a nice enough guy, which.... was not a good thing, because she very quickly pegged him as an ideal victim and he went straight onto her list of people she’d gladly kill.
This didn’t necessarily mean he was seen by her as someone she disliked, in fact the opposite was true. Jealousy aside, she did think he was pretty cool and enjoyed his field of study, so he was good in her books. Still, after the ascent to the top of the hotel and their time spent going back down, she saw him as more someone who she could potentially involve in a murder plan if needed.
Then he died.
Oops.
Ailani then realized just how much people appeared to like him, and began having second thoughts about her first impressions of people. Genta’s death and the aftermath, especially Yuka’s opinion, actually inspired her to start viewing others as complex people and not just tropes until otherwise proven, and she even felt a little bit bad for him. Then all that was pushed aside as the longer from his death, the more she had other concerns.
Final Thoughts: Cool guy, don’t kill him, she was wrong.
