These Chai Spiced Cinnamon Rolls Donuts are a delightful take on traditional cinnamon rolls, enhanced with warm chai spices and finished with a sweet glaze. Ideal for a sweet treat at any time of day or for breakfast!
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 packet active dry yeast. 1/2 cup warm milk. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1 egg. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1 tsp ground cinnamon. 1/2 tsp ground cardamom. 1/4 tsp ground cloves. 1/4 tsp ground ginger. 1/4 tsp salt. For the Filling:. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1 tbsp ground cinnamon. 1/2 tsp ground cardamom. 1/4 tsp ground cloves. 1/4 tsp ground ginger. For the Glaze:. 1 cup powdered sugar. 2 tbsp milk. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon.
Instructions: Beat sugar and warm milk together in a bowl. After adding the yeast, cover the mixture and let stand until foamy, five to ten minutes. To the yeast mixture, add the melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, ground cardamom, ground cloves, ground ginger, and ground cinnamon. Blend thoroughly. Add the flour gradually and knead the dough until it becomes elastic and smooth. After the dough has doubled in size, put it in a bowl that has been oiled, cover it, and let it rise for about an hour. To make the filling, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, ground cardamom, ground cloves, ground ginger, and ground cinnamon in a separate bowl. On a surface dusted with flour, roll out the dough into a rectangle. Evenly distribute the filling over the dough. After tightly rolling the dough from one end to the other, cut it into pieces the size of donuts. After putting the donut slices on a baking sheet and covering it, give them another half hour to rise. Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F. The donuts should be baked for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. While the donuts are baking, make the glaze in a bowl by combining milk, powdered sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. When the donuts are still warm from the oven, pour the glaze over them. Enjoy these Donuts with Chai Spiced Cinnamon Rolls after serving!
