Chalice the World Summary
Chalice the World takes place on the remains of a continent after a magic nuclear meltdown of their predecessors, the elves. Magic was firmly leashed in the elves control, to the point they terra-formed the land dubbed Chalice, from which fortune overflowed. Elves created 10 Towers, giant structures, to support the nuclear magic goliath, the Spire. The Spire fell and much of the lands were destroyed with only the 10th Tower and the lands around it remaining. Magic now only a whisp of itself.
In the following centuries, an empire known as Yusador rose reigning the land for centuries until the bitter exile and collapse to the desert, Empire’s End.
In the wake of Yusador, there were eight kingdoms. Medy, Xarlgos, Baslen, Black Bellia, Anterro, Fesmargo, and Locheckle.
Medy is ruled by a republic of hound princes and cur king, scheming philosophers and academics.
Xarlgos is overseen by three drakons from dynasty families with dragons at their religious center.
Baslen is an underground kingdom with leagues of tradition, ruled by the religious matriarch, the stone speaker.
Black Bellia is a series of eight islands and thus an octarchy or kraken’s kingdom, each island its own person.
Anterro is a freehold where knights, chivalry, and honor are deeply revered and the Lady’s Lake is a religious center.
Fesmargo is a land of the revered and decorated dead, where the lines of religion and politic bleed with the ruling merchant lords.
Locheckle is a grand collective of micro nations represented on a grand council, masks are a popular practice.
Tantimar is a series of diverse city-states with a recently budding religion dubbed the Five Mounts.
