She was by her desk, flipping through some files that the Chairman had wanted her to look over. She snapped them closed as she focused her attention on the Champion, sharp eyes giving away nothing. After all someone had to actually get some work done instead of galavanting around, but who was she to judge.

Something has come over Rose in the past months—he usually texts Leon every day that he loves him—but as of late he’s become more and more distant. It’s because Leon doesn’t understand. Doesn’t understand his plan, how important it is for the Galar region. No, how important it is for the world. He has to distance himself, because what comes next will not be pleasant. He knows what comes next will ruin their relationship for good.

He texts Leon a simple message. ‘You and I need to talk. In person. Now.’ It’s not giving him a chance to say no. It’s not giving any excuses as to why he’s been so distant either. Leon may be the type to get lost along the way, but Rose knows he’ll find his way eventually. He has a single glass of wine to take the edge off. To build up courage for what needs to be said. He loves Leon, after all, but in the end he loves Galar more.

Not that he ever gave Leon any indication of that. In press releases he always calls Leon his one and only, the champion of his heart, and many other cute nicknames. Hell, at one point he’s publicly called Leon his soulmate—but Galar takes precedence over his own love, doesn’t it? It has to—because if it doesn’t Rose’s own heart would surely break—and a man hellbent on changing the world can’t let his heart get in the way of things.

So he waits. He waits for Leon as he is used to doing. 

He’ll come. Eventually. As always.

Now, Piers is often a bit of a shut-in, but when someone ( especially the former Champion ) comes to visit, he’s inclined to let them stick around as long as they don’t wear out their welcome. He offers one of his signature half-smirk-barely-there smiles, which is better than no smile, at the very least.

“hey, leon. didn’t get lost on your way here, now, didja?” Gotta get in a jab or two somehow.
