Mysterious Superbuble!
Astounding: N44 boasts a mysterious “superbubble” measuring 250 light-years across, hollowing out the center of the nebula.

The Cat's Eye Nebula
Planetary Nebula are not all quite so "Planetary", particularly if the star that is dying happens to have a binary partner, that can stir up the output, but it's also true that some stars lose mass which is then funneled along the poles producing bi-lobal structures instead of spherical ones.
The above image is a composite of optical and x-ray output, and reveals the beautiful structures and patterns of expelling events as the star slowly becomes a white dwarf.
💫 “Today Chandra is studying a Black Hole in Ursa Major. Nearby in the sky two galaxies are merging in Arp 299. At least 14 "ultra-luminous X-ray sources" (ULXs) have been discovered here. All are likely black holes or neutron stars pulling material from a companion star.”
