The thing is, if you want to recruit people for a cause, any cause, you shouldn't try to flip the opposers.
It's not worth it. It takes too much time and effort. You can't convince a nazi that jews deserve to live as much as everyone else. You probably can't even change the mind of someone who blogs about how abstract art is worthless and meaningless.
What you should do is find people who exist mostly outside of the argument. People who haven't taken a side yet. Those are the ones who, deep down, might believe you are right.
