Meditation: Considering Craft
So you want to be a Christian Witch part XI...
I’m a Gemini. I jump in. Consider an overeager retriever puppy on its first hunt. He runs out. Sometimes he brings back a bird, but most of the time he comes back with sticks. That’s me.
My study of witchcraft began in this manner. It happened all at once. I was reading ten to twelve books at a time. In my fervor I even picked up some Silver Ravenwolf. I read much and jumped into practice without a firm magical foundation. I even spurned advice to take my time in learning magick. I had to know it now!
I wouldn’t have it any other way, but learning how to control myself and really engage with magick properly took a lot longer than if I had just started from there. It took me a while to build up my foundation. I am still not sure it’s fully built.
Listen to advice, and accept discipline,
so that in the end you will be wise.
There are all sorts of debates within our witchy community. What is acceptable and what is not. Follow the research and when wisdom is given to you accept it or find a deeper wisdom through your own research. Do not foolishly sit back and write off advice given to you by more practiced witches because you cannot understand it or it does not appeal to you.
You magick that touches people. You want magick that is strong and steadfast. You want magick that will be to the glory of God.
Everyone else in this community wants that for you too.
Take some time today to do some research on a subject you may feel uncomfortable with. Ask questions. It could be on whether or not it is acceptable to substitute components in spells or if gender plays a role in spellwork. You could research what is acceptable in the way of divination or how a Christian witch can ethically provide magickal aide for a friend.
Listen with an open heart to what others have said on the subject. Compare this with your own research. And above all, ask God! He can and will speak to you personally on the subject.
