Part One
Renjun’s pov.
“I can’t believe you made me come here,” I said, gesturing to the field of flowers we were sanding in. “Do I, the god of death, look like I belong in a flower field!” I ranted causing Haechan to laugh. “You’re really living up to the whole god of the underworld thing,” He said, still chuckling. “Well some of us take our job seriously,” I said, crossing my arms.
“I am shocked that you think that,” Haechan said laughing at his own pun. “Can you please remind me why we are here?” I asked. “Well, dear brother o’ mine, you work too much and we decided you needed a break,” He explained, throwing his arm around my shoulder. “We? Please don’t tell me Ma-,” I am cut off mid-sentence by my final brother Mark. “I’m here!” Mark yelled panting. “Do you even own a hairdryer?” I asked as he flicked his hair, flinging water all over Haechan and me. “Aww you’re no fun,” Mark said pouting.
“So what are we doing for my so-called break?” I questioned rolling my eyes. “Well, I was thinking that we could go on a stroll,” Haechan said, shrugging. “Let’s get this over with then,” I sighed
Y/n’s pov.
“Thea come on,” I whined for what seemed like the thousandth time. “Mother said that I have to have at least two people with me and Maya is already waiting on us in the meadow,” I said with a pout. “I don’t know, Y/n, something feels wrong maybe we should wait,” Thea said with a look of concern on her face.
“But, Thea, the daisies are in full bloom today and I worked really hard on them, please,” I begged. “Okay, we’ll go but only long enough to gather some daisies,” Thea said caving in. “Thank you!” I yelled, grabbing her hand and getting ready to be teleported.
“It’s about time you two got here!” Maya exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air. “Thea didn’t want to come and you know how Mother is,” I said bending down to examine some tiger lilies. “You’ve really outdone yourself, Y/n, it’s beautiful,” Maya complemented. I nodded my head in agreement and walked past some pre-bloomed poppies causing them to open up.
I made my way over to a group of daisies and sat down. “Don’t get too comfortable, Y/n. I still feel like something bad is going to happen,” Thea lectured. I rolled my eyes and began weaving some daisies together to make a flower crown.
After I finished my flower crown, I placed it on my head and got up. I slowly walk over to Thea and tap her shoulder. “Tag!” I yell running away from her. “How old are you?” She asks, chasing after me. “Eighteen,” I retort giggling and hiding behind Maya.
Renjun’s pov.
As my idiotic brothers and I approached a meadow I heard a sound that stops me in my tracks. I quickly scan the meadow and my eyes land on the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I watch in awe as she lets out a laugh and gracefully runs away from her friends. “Haechan, have you ever seen him like this?” I hear Mark whisper. “No, but can you blame him she is gorgeous,” Haechan whispers back. I turn around and give them a deadly glare.“Back off she’s mine!” I yelled, catching the attention of the girls in the meadow.
My eyes widen causing Mark and Haechan to burst into giggles. I look over to the girls who are now trembling in fear. “Teleport us out of here, Thea,” The girl with a flower crown whispered to her friend. “I’m sorry sweets I can’t let you do that,” Haechan said, stepping forward. “Haechan what are you doing?” Mark asked. “This girl has him completely stunned! I mean he hasn’t taken his eyes off of her, we can’t let her get away!” Haechan yelled, walking towards the beautiful goddess causing her to move behind her friends. “Haechan stop! You’re scaring her!” I screamed snapping out of my trance. “Little goddess, please come forward,” I softly commanded, slowly walking towards the group.
“No!” The girl yelled defiantly, remaining behind her friends. I let out a loud sigh, “I was hoping you’d make this easy for yourself, love,” I said teleporting behind her and grabbing her waist. “I hope you’re ready to start your new life,” I whispered in the struggling girl’s ear. “Haechan, would you do the honors?” I asked. “My pleasure,” He responded conjuring up a lightning bolt. Haechan threw the bolt into the ground causing it to split open and form a portal to the Underworld.”We’ll catch up with you later, Renjun, we can see you have your hands full,” Mark said, smirking. “Wave goodbye to your friends, love,” I said, picking her up and carrying her to the portal.
“Put me down you brute!” The goddess screamed, continuing to struggle. I shifted the small girl over to my hip, “If you don’t stop struggling you’re going to hurt yourself,” I stated. “If you don’t put me down I’m going to hurt you!” The little goddess growls trying to be scary. I let out a dark chuckle, “Are you trying to scare the god of the Underworld, little love?” I asked, allowing my eyes to turn a vivid shade of yellow and my veins to turn black. The girl on my hip let out a small whimper and shook her head ‘no’. “Good,” I said, making my features go back to normal.
As we walked further in the portal I realized that I knew nothing about this girl. “What’s your name, little goddess?” I asked. “Y-Y/n” She stuttered. “Such a beautiful name,” I whispered, kissing her forehead.“Look, little love, there is your new home,” I said pointing to my castle at the end of the portal. “That will never be my home,” Y/n murmured. I rolled my eyes and continued walking.
When we arrived at the end of the portal I put my little goddess on the ground and grabbed her hand. I deeply inhaled, “It feels so good to be home,” I said exhaling.
Y/n's pov.
Tears began to fill my eyes as I looked around and saw nothing but darkness. “What’s wrong, little love?” The unknown god questioned sensing my sorrow. The simple question caused tears to pour down my face. “Y/n, if you don’t tell me what’s wrong I can’t fix it,” The man said softly. I shook my head and continued crying. “Tell me!” He yelled. I flinched and tried to wiggle out of his grasp. “Stop moving!” He harshly demanded, black once again creeping up his veins.
“You want to know what’s wrong? I don’t even know you! You took me away from my mother and friends! Now you want me to tell you about my problems? Well, right now my problem is you!” I ranted, breathing heavily as I finished. “Well, you better get used to it, little love, you’re mine,” He said. “My name is Renjun, little goddess, don’t forget it,” He said, walking towards the mansion in the distance pulling me behind him.
