"No mom! You can't throw out our old TV! What if it's Mr. Tenna??? :,( "
listen i know i yap a lot about nick and neurodiversity in my fics but it's like. every time i reread heartstopper it really jumps out at me and i'll probably reblog this again with more thoughts as i continue my reread but like.
it strikes me as interesting that despite the fact that nick gets called a chav pretty early on by tao, we never actually see nick acting that way on page. i think the show does a good job at showing how nick has sort of chameleoned himself and stuffed his real personality down but the show is a topic for a different post. in the webcomic we see it once when charlie is teasing him about being laddish and nick decides to act that way for a laugh. on one hand, i chalk this up to most of the early webcomic/heartstopper in general being in Charlie's pov. he wouldn't have noticed these things about Nick because they didn't really notice each other until their meet cute, which is realistic. I think it also speaks well to Charlie's character that he takes who Nick is at face value and challenges Tao's opinion of him. but what jumps out at me is that in harry's birthday party we sort of see the first instance of nick's "meaner" side and it's in the context of defending Charlie. Still! The first instance of this really sunshiney character taking quite a big turn!
Your Sonic/Yugioh crossover is currently eating at my brain and I love it! Having Tails as Jounouchi is actually a really smart and really cool big-brained idea! I NEED the lore. Does Tails join a gang? Is he tough enough that people don't tease him about his two tails? Does he use tech? Does he use it to fight?! (Yoyo attack gun?) Does he have a sister? Is he a grade-skipper or Nicky's age? And is Honda Knuckles?! And final question, is fanart okay if I tag you?
Hi!!!
I'm so glad that you like my crossover au! Tails as Jounouchi is one of the ones that I was skeptical of at first, but then it grew on me.
I think Tails definitely used to be part of a gang- mainly due to his two Tails (big fish little fish metaphor, etc. etc). As a child with neglectful parents, he needed to grow up quickly to keep himself and his baby sister afloat, and because of his superior intellect, it was all too easy to fit in with the 'big kids' and become a delinquent to remain outside of the bullying firing range. This is made easier, somehow, when he skips a couple grades, although he distances himself from them after only two years when he realises early-on that being a part of a gang does more harm than good.
Despite being much younger than the rest of the yugang, Tails is a strong physical fighter. Although he prefers to rely on his technology, years on the streets haven't gone to waste in honing his street smarts, and he knows at the very least how to use his tails to give him an advantage in combat.
In death-t for example, most of Tails' technology is confiscated, so he needs to use his knowledge in other ways, especially during the fighting segments. I think I made him look pretty badass in this panel redraw :)
What technology he uses outside of death-t probably depends on the situation (he's a smart kid). A yoyo gun is definitely very interesting, and now that you've put that into my brain, I might just steal that idea lol.
YES, HONDA IS KNUCKLES HOW DID YOU KNOW LOL. More on him later, but I think Honda's bluntness and chivalry- along with mainly resolving altercations via his fists- makes him a great Knuckles.

PLEASE, GO NUTS WITH THE FANART! I love seeing people make cool arts :)
(yesssss tag me I wanna see your drawings >:)))))
10 Years.
10 Years ago, my first ever drawings of sans looked like this:
LOOK AT THAT!!! He's so potato shaped, and like... WOW.
I love this drawing. It was so whimsical. I was so proud-- I MADE that with my own finger!
And... well, 10 years of drawing on and off... Even if you don't think you improve, you definitely do.
10 years.
Don't be a sack of potatoes. We're all waiting for the next part of our lives together.
Let's do it in some good company. With some good food, and nice laughs.
I have, like, a whole spamtenna au cooking up in my head, like with a whole timeline and everything. Just gotta cook some stuff up first
Hey sorry guys I just gotta be honest with you, but I think lesbians are pretty chill
