...Is Shadow's brother Eclipse the Darkling?

This is an incredibly understandable question, as it is popular fanon to interpret Shadow and Eclipse as biologically related - but no, the "little brother" Doom referred to was NOT Eclipse! Shadow and Eclipse in BA HRT are NOT biologically related, though they ARE very close friends to the point of a found family like bond

Eclipse is absolutely going to be in this series though, do not get that twisted! It'd be a shame to not have them, in my opinion. And speaking of that, in BA HRT they are nonbinary fem, going by they/she/ze pronouns - very similarly to our own Eclipse fictive in our system!

So, if not Eclipse, then who? Admittedly, I recognize that unless you're already familiar with our work, you'd have no chance of guessing it - which is why I'm glad someone asked this question tbh

Shadow's little brother (or "technically" half brother) in BA HRT, as well as our main series The Era of Shadow, is an OC of ours named Garrick who is the child of Black Doom and another one of our OCs Black Widow!

We haven't designed what he looks like in BA HRT just yet, but these are his refs from TEoS (Left is true form, right is mobian disguise). He will look a good bit different in BA HRT though because he'll be 5 years older in it compared to in TEoS! (Note: in the timeline of BA HRT, the events of mainline TEoS never happened, it just happens to take place 5 years after where it would have been on the timeline if not for certain events that happened in the BA HRT timeline that DIDN'T happen in TEoS' timeline) So 10-11 years old in BA HRT instead of him being 5-6 years old in TEoS.

... Though funnily enough, Garrick is at Eclipse's house as the events of A Shot in The Dark happen so. Yeah lmao-
