#chaotic studying

list of chaotic study things i did in highschool that probably say more about me than I want them to

in my junior year, i spent a year going to a physics class i wasn't even enrolled in just for fun. I even ended up taking the final exam and scoring an A- after purposefully waking up 1.5h early just to study for that exam, which was a better grade than 90% of the class got

I play disco pop music while studying bc it keeps me energized. this lead to me once having a mental breakdown bc of my german A-level exam while rasputin played in the background

during my A-levels, I decided it doesn't hurt to try any and every study method that I can think of. the result was me lying on the floor memorizing the material while balancing a quartz crystal on my forehead

once went to school only to take an exam for said physics class (a class that, again, I wasn't even enrolled in and this grade did not affect me in any way)

calculated the exact time it took me to study an A4 sheet of information (25 minutes) and timed my study session so perfectly, that a few times I had finished studying the entire material 1 minute before the exam started

during my prep for my oral spanish A-level exam, i started to conjugate verbs in spanish in my head while falling asleep, until I realized what I was doing and was like "wtf"

studied in the weirdest places. on the floor. upside down hanging from the couch. in a tram in vienna while i was on holiday with my family during my finals week

read a 500 page math book in a day for my finals

got into the habit of muttering the things I was memorizing out loud, which lead to me absentmindly conjugating verbs in spanish while staring straight at my principal while he was walking by me. he looked at me like I was possessed and seemed scared for his life

studied so much and so hard during my senior year, that i ended up with a strained wrist, but i kept pushing through the pain until i had finished all my exams. the wrist strain still bothers me a year later and I have to wear a wrist splint if I want to do anything with my right hand

I speak 5 languages and regularly mix them while taking notes

studied for 10h straight the day before my math A-level, after which i crashed so hard that I almost fell asleep on the wall infront of my school

I have an emotional support study plushie (a lil hedgehog) I place on my desk or near me when I study so that he can judge me when I procrastinate

Tomorrow’s my first day at university. I have to make it work.

I have to be as good as I was in high school.

No. I have to be better. I have to get higher and higher, be smarter, more organised, more focused, more disciplined.

I have high hopes so don’t disappoint me, please. Because I won’t disappoint you.

im reading The Roots of Honour by J. Ruskin for the first time, from his collection Unto This Last and gosh this man writes a lot of words. just words upon words upon words.

I agree with some stuff he says, but my guy please use less words?

I’m tired.

But I cannot stop studying. I just can’t.

I have to know as much as possible. I have to pass these exams with the highest grades.

because I can't seem to work without having something new in the whole text, I gotta test my memory this way. (sigh) why is my brain somewhere between a ND and an NT brain

I am too chaotic to NOT cram the night before an exam. Do I study before said cramming? Yea I guess a little. But I still spend the night before doing a bunch of problems and memorizing. I know they say to get a good rest the night before but I find so much comfort laying in bed with my notes scattered on and passing out with them around my head. I am too forgetful and I like to know that I studied until the last minute
